There has got to be a crying icon somewhere

We will miss you Tillman and thank you for fighting for freedom.

RIP :(

May God bless Pat Tillman. He will forever be a hero of mine. He walked the walk and put his country before anything else. He is a man's man. What kind of man walks aways from a 3.5 million dollard NFL contract to become a Ranger and fight in a land like Afganistan? He stands tall among our many pampered professiona athletes. There have been others like Pat but he is among a precisous few. I wish I could have known this man because he must have been some kind of special.

A few more quotes from AZ congressmen on Tillman....

Several members of Arizona's congressional delegation released statements on Tillman's death.

Sen. John McCain said, "I am heartbroken today by the news of Pat Tillman's death. The tragic loss of this extraordinary young man will seem a heavy blow to our nation's morale, as it is surely a grievous injury to his loved ones."

Sen. John Kyl released a statement calling Tillman "a great American hero in the truest sense. He had already given up so much, including an incredible football career and loving family, to fight for his country in the war on terrorism. His patriotism and courage are an inspiration and we are grateful for his ultimate sacrifice."

Rep. Jeff Flake said, "Pat Tillman exemplified the sacrifice, selflessness, and service of the U.S. military. Nowadays, genuine role models in professional sports are few and far between, but Tillman proved that there are still heroes in sports."

Catch you on the flipside Pat. Thanks for hopefully showing all of us what is important in life. Thanks so much for serving your country. You, and all servicemen and women, are the heroes we should look up to.

Sympathies to the whole Tillman clan.

My God. I just found out. Been so busy at work didnt even turn on radio.

If they don't name at least the field at the new stadium for Tillman. Then I just don't know what to think of the team.

I dont know what to say.

I really cant put into words how I feel. I guess empty would be the correct description.

Like someone else said, it wasnt supposed to end like this. I hope everyone can take a little piece of what Pat Tillman stood for to make themselves a better person.

You are a great American Pat Tillman. A great Human Being.

God Bless

John

For some reason I was so sure that he'd make it back. They cancelled Helium Hilarity on the Tim & Mark show. They said that's the first time that's ever happened and I don't blame them at all. I can't believe how hard his death has hit me, either. God bless Pat Tillman and all of our fallen soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan.

He will forever be my hero. A rare few people would walk away from a 3.5 million dollar contract to become a Ranger and fight in Afganastan. He must have been a very special person and will forever stand tall in my mind. Wish I could have known him. May God look over him and his family.

I had the honor of meeting Pat Tillman. I probably had about 15 converations with him, varying from 1min to a half hour. I used to work a summer job at a coffee shop on Mill. He'd come in, drink tea, and read. His scorning of the trappings of athletic fame was no joke. He rode a Schwinn bike. If I brought up football, he'd pretty much cut the conversation short. If I started talking about whatever book he had with him, then he would sit down and talk longer.

Nice guy, great man.

What a bummer.

I like many of you are feeling a great loss todayl. I heard the news about 8am this morning and just couldn't believe it. All of the tributes on TV and the ones on the internet are so deserved for this "Warrior" Pat was a selfless man that definitly had his own calling in life. I am sure he has a great calling now. Our heart goes out to his wife and family. We won't forget him and all of those who have served our country. I will be at the Draft Party tomorrow wearing my #40 jersey with a black arm band in memory....sad day.
