How about PayinAyton, I wonder what child support and maintenance for two kids and two baby mommas on 33 million a year works out to.

As of now, Phoenix can still trade Ayton and take 110 percent of his salary back in return from one or a combination of players. Next summer, that will go down to 100 percent, and the Suns will be unable to include cash or aggregate contracts in trades.

We aren't likely to see the best version of Ayton playing alongside Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Beal, especially without Chris Paul. Ayton received 30.1 percent of his total passes from Paul last season, with Booker finishing a distant second at 12.6 percent.

Ayton's raw stats will suffer, and he'll eventually be traded for parts, with a rim-protecting center, wing defender and pass-first point guard all ranking at the top of Phoenix's wish list.

That's a trash article whose whole premise is the lowest common denominator. I know you don't think a change in coaching will help, but most here do. So you can keep posting your articles, but it's not going to change any of our minds.

Considering that CP3 did so much of the ballhandling, I'm surprised to learn he only accounted for 30% of the passes Ayton recieved.

It's just an article, I don't post a lot of articles in here, I didn't even add any context, calm down

You’ve already given context many times over, so don’t act like you didn’t post that with an agenda.

Calm down? Lol it’s a message board bro.
Dammit... you're on to me and my agenda... lol I might as well come clean

I paid the pornstar to seduce Ayton

I put some electrical devices in his shoes and shock his feet during games from time to time - the shocking only stops when he steps off the court

I put Vaseline in his hand lotion

I've been coating all his bling in estrogen for a few years now

I leave mean notes in his locker - disguised in his teammates handwriting

And that's just off the top of my head but it feels good to get it off my chest - I knew this day would come

Deep down I knew it was you but just didn’t have the proof. Now I got your confession.

Should everyone PM you links before sharing articles to make sure there's nothing that will offend you? Just want to clear things up before we start seeing more articles headed into camp.

I'm not that surprised since Ayton got most of his shots off pick and rolls, which would account for the 42% or so from Paul and Booker, and the rest from putbacks. He also played a lot last year without either of them since it seems no one was consistently healthy in December and January. I'd like to know stats for the previous season to paint a better picture because I imagine the games Ayton played without Paul and Booker last season significantly lowered those numbers.

Not much of an article. It's just a blurb on speculation. Hey if they can trade him now for a quality big and improve the team? Great. However, that team has to have the assets and the salary cap space. Plus, teams now have to take into consideration that contract and the new apron. The info above is great and all but don't see how it helps create more trade partners.

I was this loser off my team and out of my life but it doesn’t make sense to trade him given his value. He can still be impactful in a title run if he gets about 15% better at doing the dirty work.

It's not just about improving the team. We're deep in the luxury tax and if we can move Ayton for someone who makes less then every dollar saved is actually 3 times as much considering the luxury tax. We're $21 million over the tax line, which means a $52m tax bill. If we can shred some salary, even $6 million more, the tax bill will shrink by more than half, down to roughly $27m. So if we can find a way to dump Ayton and save roughly $33 million between salary and luxury tax then I'd be very surprised if the team didn't do it. Especially if someone we get in return can provide roughly 80% of what Ayton does. There's a good number of Centers out there than can do that also, the question is then can the Suns make a trade work.

So a trade that lowers our tax line by $6 million, which should lower the tax bill significantly as I mentioned above, could be done with Indiana involving Ayton for Myles Turner and Jalen Smith. Stix is needed to make the trade work but we'd get 2 for 1 while reducing the tax spending. Then I suppose we could move Stix elsewhere, waive Ish, or something. Just a hypothetical and showing deals are out that can reduce our salary and tax bill as I mentioned above, since I'm sure someone will ask for examples. I'd imagine Turner and Stix could provide 80% of what Ayton does without the baggage.

No clue how feasible that would be but I'd jump on that deal if it were available.

Why do we care how much money trading DA saves if it doesn't take us under the cap?

I don't really care unless it gives us more options in signing or trading for players in the near future. I'm not in favor of wasting the owner's money but for the next couple years I'm not in favor of making moves solely so the owner doesn't have to pay it out either. It's put up and shut up time.

Because a deal like that should also get us under the second apron which allows for more options to sign free agents and more flexibility regarding trades. The tax aprons also mean we can't sign anyone waived after a buyouts so it would open up that possibility as well. The aprons are very prohibitive.

Based on the Cam Payne salary dump, this owner doesn't have a bottomless pit of funds to throw at the team. If we could get similar value for less money annually while opening up other avenues to improve the team then it makes a lot sense considering KD, Booker, and Beal are essentially untouchable. We need to build around them as they're the real difference makers.
