I now question James Jones' loyalty, especially if all we get is yet another so-so draft pick and a throw-away player.

It is time for Adam Silver to intervene the way David Stern did when the Hornets attempted to give Chris Paul away to the Lakers.

I don't suspect there is a third team yet, but that third team is likely where we would get the playmaking guard.

Why? Ariza sucks and if the Suns can get a point guard and a draft pick, why the hell would Jones NOT do it?

The only point guard the Lakers have to trade is Lonzo Ball, and he isn't leaving the Lakers. We don't need yet another project in Isaac Bonga or another shooting guard in a point guard's body in Josh Hart.

If Jones can make a positive asset out of Ariza, he deserves some credit for that. We'll see.

Lin would make sense regardless of injury history. He nearly has the same salary as Ariza and thus the trade works and he would help the team a lot more this season than Ariza has. He wouldn't be a long term answer, but he would help to stop our historically bad run and if he plays well for us maybe we can get him on a team friendly contract in the off-season.
