Yeah, clearly Mike D was up **** creek with last year's Laker squad too, Jackson would have pooped the bed. Sure, unlike Mike, Jackson MIGHT have realized before April that having two all-star big men was an advantage and not a problem. And maaaaaybe he would have used his reserves enough to keep Kobe from playing until his leg fell off. But no one is perfect. Mike did what he could with the tools at hand... and perhaps when mike "uses the tools at hand" it could be compared to attempting to use a hammer to saw down a tree... but thats how he rolls.

And as a Suns fan I am very happy that he played a huge part in utterly destroying what should have been a title contender last year.

Marshall is averaging 11ppg 9+apg and 45%FG. Not bad for a 2nd year player eh?

Funny what some confidence and opportunity can actually do for players rather than reading over and over how stupid blogs or fan message boards rip a rookie apart for nothing.

I actually didn't hate the pick but Marshall is absolutely abysmal on defense which offsets a lot of his offense.

I'll admit that he is on a tear right now but let's wait until the end of the season.

Was someone ripping him for his passing skills? He still can't defend and even though he's shooting well from the arc he's still a below average shooter for a starting guard. Teams are leaving him wide open from distance and so far he's been making them pay but we'll see what happens when they start guarding him.

He's in the ideal situation for him. He's playing for a coach that doesn't care about defense and a team that desperately needs someone that can run an offense and pass the ball. It also helps that wins and losses are afterthoughts because so far the team appears to be worse with him than without him. They are 2 - 10 since he joined the Lakers.

I think he's going to have some trouble once guys start getting in his face.

How is Marshall stat padding on one of the worst teams in the NBA supposed to be impressive?

I don't usually say something like this in a post . . . but Marshall is gone. The Lakers were hard up and he is doing the one think he can do fairly well -- assists. Get over it, everybody! The Suns wouldn't be where we are if Marshall were our third Guard.
