You know Gentry's desperate when he has to use unusual combinations in the line up. Collins with the starters??? interesting.....

*Kobe mode on*

I wanna play every second of the game so I can paddle my stats a little further - I wanna be top scorer! So even if the opponent plays its bench I still wanna be in there Phil!

*Kobe mode off*

Finally!!! JRich shows passion and gets tangled up with Kobe - maybe this is the spark we need!

How does Kobe not get a technical for being the one that instigated the confrontation?? He's the one that walked up on JRich.

Sasha gets the tech and not Kobe?? Kobe approached J-Rich. This officiating is crap. I thought Kobe was good enough to not need coddling

Kind of reminds me the Magic game. Doesn't look like we are even trying very hard, content with the record and the second-night of a back-to-back excuse.

Ok, we've established that the refs are going to call everything in the paint for the Lakers. That means that bodies need to hit the floor in the 2nd half. If your going to foul, might as well take some heads with you

Because Kobe just walked up to him, and Sasha came barelling in and made contact.

Why did J-Rich get a T? Unless he said something, there was nothing there that warranted a T. Kobe turns and gets in his face, no T. That makes sense I guess...

WOW. Something about Bynum... the combination of the scraggly mustache and the high pitched voice is just comical.

What a bunch of craptastic play. :( Suns down 45-59 after the 2nd quarter. Suns shooting 33%, Lakers 55%.

The only one needing a T there was Sasha.

<sigh> Ask for an explanation and get a bad one from a Laker fan. Thanks!

Sasha ran in, but only because Kobe walked up on JRich, JRich wasn't doing anything except complaining to the refs that Kobe (surprise, surprise) has been elbowing him all game.

Put him on a pedestal all you want, but Kobe isn't a god.

Due to the crappy scheduling, all i expected from the Suns in this game is put up a decent effort and not mail it in. I am anticipating a loss but a win would be a pleasant surprise.

These damn excuses, it's been going on for years now - why is Grant playing pretty good then? He's the oldest player on our squad and he does not look too tired - what the f is Stat's excuse?

Damn, I can live with a game we can not win but I am not gonna just watch this lackluster excuse of an effort.

Looks like our athletes (good paid ones) are not capable of playing two games in 2 days, while sittin out the whole fourth quarter yesterday

God, please let us wake up in the second half - we came from behind before and I am not impressed by the Lakers, they are just as half-assed as we tonight.

Here comes Barkley's typical Suns bashing. The dude holds a serious grudge.

Oh get off of it.

JRich is frustrated with the physical play, three plays before he flipped out and flailed at Kobe. That play he made minor contact with Kobe's head...Kobe goes over to him to posture, JRich does nothing and Sasha comes flying in like WWII was going off. Sasha makes contact, gets T'd up. I'm willing to bet that the yelling at the ref about the "damn elbows" is what earned Jrich his. And no, he wasn't complaining until AFTER Sasha came running up. In the slomo, neither he or Kobe said anything until Sasha came dorking up the scene like he's some enforcer or something.

You asked why Sasha got a T and Kobe didn't. That's why.

Not true. JRich has talked to the refs a couple times already.

But you're biased. I get it. We can come back in this game, but it's not looking good for us.

He has talked to the refs, yes. But on THAT particular play, he said nothing. Kobe came his way, he didn't do ANYTHING, smartly. Didn't jaw at him, didn't complain, didn't do anything at all. Shouldn't have gotten a tech, but AFTER Sasha came over and the T flew, THEN you can hear Jrich yelling about the elbows. That has to be why he got the T (which is weak in its own right).

It isn't bias, it's freaking HD right in front of me. Pretty freaking easy to see what happened. They even slow-mo'd it afterwards and you can see JRich intelligently not getting involved with Kobe's posturing (which was weak as well). I actually found it funny that the skinniest, least enforcer-type on the team came running in to protect Kobe from...well, nothing really. But of course, since I put the blame on a Laker, and think your guy got shafted on the T, I'm somehow biased about it. Classic.

Donald, Kobe should have been T'd up way before Sasha got involved. Confrontation is over way before Sasha gets involved.

It was BS all around. Kobe should not be complaining.

Its just that the young guys are nervous. Nothing at this point could get Hill or Nash worked up so of course they are consistent. Amare is always the "man" till he starts sucking and then he usually mails it in. Didn't you see all the missed layups and even dunks? We would be ahead right now if a few of those had dropped. The only thing I don't get is why Gentry is playing Collins so much. Maybe he just doesn't see any magnitude to this game and is just working on developing him. I can see the potential but cmon missed FT's?
