Horry will get a one game suspension for the flagrant 2 foul. (automatic)

Other than some fines (maybe) that is all that is going to happen.

Can The league really punish a victim? Horry goes Scott Stevens on Nash and we lose our guy? A rule is a rule but c'mon!!!! Did anyone catch what Jalen Rose said about Tim Duncan in the 2nd quarter?

Anyone have video of Duncan stepping on the court and Bowen pulling him back in the 2nd quarter when Elson and James Jones got mixed up on Elsons dunk?

Cause if they call the Horry/Nash incident a "Altercation" then they have to also consider the Elson/Jones incident an altercation.

If so and Duncan did indeed step onto the court from the bench, then you can't possibly suspend Amare and Diaw without also tossing Duncan for a game.

So if we lose Amare and Diaw and the Spurs lose Duncan and Horry, who now has the advantage for game 5?

Hopefully Stern and Jackson man-up and just hand out fines instead of nitpicking on a little BS rule. Only Horry should be suspened and everyone else should get a slap on the wrist for being involved.

there we go.

Did anyone see a shot of the Spurs bench during the altercation? I don't remember TNT showing that angle. I bet the Spurs bench looked very similar to the Suns with multiple players moving toward Horry and Nash. The arena video feed that is provided to the teams for analysis would show both benches. The league will use this tape to determine what, if any, additional suspensions will be given.

This morning on Xtra Sports they are reporting that the Spurs announcer reported that he witnessed Amare taking off his sweats right before the indcident that supports Amare was checking in.

Don't know what impact if at all this will have but if I am the Suns, I am picking up the phone and asking the league office to call him.

ugh - stop with the elson/jones as an altercation - two guys got tangled up - both ran down the court - they did not confront each other - no fouls were assessed and play stayed fluid

horry delivered a hard foul - he then mixed it up with bell - nash then made a charge at him - the players on the floor all go together baseball style - one player was ejected and the other was assessed a T

you cannot say that these two situations are similar in any way

Technically, there was no altercation (if there was one at all, the responses after this were quite tame) until Nash got up. If you'll notice on the video, at the 1:37 mark that Amare left the bench area while Nash was still on the floor and before any confrontation between Nash and Horry occurred.

Like I said, the league clearly has a way to get out of this. Its just a matter of whether they want to use it or not.

I agree with Barkley. This rule should be only for bench guys who goes out there and throw punches. Stat and Boris went to aid Nash. To me that human reaction. It was a hard hit and naturally people walk up to help him up. That's why they call themselves a "team".

The rules state you can't leave the bench for the court for any reason, but I agree those pushing for Duncan to be tossed are reaching way deep.

leaving the bench area is a foul with normal rules - coaches can get whistled for leaving the box, players for wandering onto the court when they aren't checked in - those aren't the suspendable type of fouls though

leaving the bench during an altercation is something different altogether

i'm surprised he had his sweats on at all. if i remember correctly, he sat down for just the one defensive play (kt went in for him) and the intention was to have him check in immediately after that spurs possession. if the spurs didn't score on that possession, they would commit the automatic foul; if the spurs did score, the suns call a timeout. either way, amare was coming right back in.

yes, but was this an altercation at the time they came off the bench? imo, it became an altercation when bell and horry started in on each other. if you watch the video, the response from the suns bench area was immediate.

And if you'll note in the same video, at the 1:13 mark when Raja and Horry are shoving at each other, right behind Horry's shoulder you can see Amare's face, and him then being pulled back by the coaches.

Was that when Will Smith swung his elbow at Raja's neck?
