He will not be a QB. He will try and play another position. Not sure what he would translate to though.

Speculation on KFFL that we signed;

Cornerback | Senior | Miami (OH) Darrell Hunter
Height: 5-11 7/8 | Weight: 206 | 40-Time: 4.45

Official Bio

Strengths:
Good size...Has outstanding speed with a burst...Accelerates and recovers well...Excellent athletic ability and a great leaper...Very quick and agile...Smooth with fluid hips...Can stick with receivers in man coverage...Has good hands, body control and ball skills...Good instincts...Durable and has a ton of experience.

Weaknesses:
Is not very tough or aggressive...Sub par as a tackler...Needs to be more physical with wideouts...Lacks great awareness...Raw and needs some technique work...Relies too heavily on his speed...Did not get tested very often at the college level...A little too inconsistent and doesn't always play up to his abilities.

Notes:
Former state track champion who is credited with the fastest 40 time in school history...Has all the physical tools you look for in a top corner...Should be a workout warrior and could make a move in the months leading up to the draft.

Cardinals | Team signs UDFA G. Lee
Sun, 30 Apr 2006 21:40:38 -0700

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wide Receiver | Junior | Pittsburgh Greg Lee
Height: 6-1 5/8 | Weight: 201 | 40-Time: 4.60

Official Bio

Strengths:
Has good size and a solid frame...A good natural athlete...Has great body control and ball skills...Has a knack for getting open...Will make the tough catch when covered...Was very productive the past two years...Still has considerable upside.

Weaknesses:
Does not have elite speed or quickness...Will drop too many balls...Toughness has been questioned and he doesn't work over the middle much...Won't do much after the catch...Footwork out of breaks is spotty...Raw and needs development.

Notes:
Stepped in for Larry Fitzgerald when he left for the NFL as a sophomore and looked like a future high pick but struggled a bit in 2005...Probably would have gone much higher next year had he gone back to school in '07 but could be an interesting guy to take a flyer on...Might be kind of a poor-man's Antonio Bryant.

Two-year deal? Interesting.

Most UDFA's get a one-year contract. They must have really wanted to bring him in.

2 years deals are not that uncommon any more. Most UDFA's around the league have been getting 2 years deals since 2000 draft. It is a win - win situation. If the UDFa makes the team for both years he will make more then the EFA tender offer in year 2. If he doesnt make the team then there is no cap hit for the team as well.

Most if not all of our UDFA's from last year got 2 year deals.

If true. I really like this one. One of the top players left. Will at the least gives some good competition for the last CB spot and make a good PS player for depth and future considerations as he matures.

1. Update on DE A. J. Schable, 6-4 285, South Dakota (Division II):

Finished the season as the “sack” and “tackle for loss” (TFL) champion in all of Division II. Recorded 18.5 sacks and 22 TFL. Schable flashes serious size, speed and production and could be a late round draft pick in the 2006 NFL Draft.

Per the war room video the Cards almost drafted Hunter in round 7.

He should make the squad as a cornerback and could play some free safety or push someone else to that position.

Lee sound like a quality signing. I wonder if Fitz had anything to do with this.

His bio from The War Room

Greg Lee
WR, Pittsburgh
Overall grade: 5.7
Position rank: 11
NFL comparison: Bryant Johnson, Cardinals

War Room analysis
Strengths: Is a big, tall receiver with good speed. Shows excellent hands to pluck the ball out of the air at full speed. Catches passes away from his body, and shows good body control. Has the size and strength to beat press coverage, and has the physical tools to be a solid blocker.

Weaknesses: Is a one-speed player and lacks a second gear. Is a long strider who takes time to reach full speed. Lacks downfield burst. Lacks quick footwork; must gather himself to get in and out of breaks. Is not comfortable going across the middle or making tough catches in traffic. Drops too many balls; shows "alligator arms" if he thinks he will get hit. Is an inconsistent blocker; lacks good technique and struggles to lock on to defenders.

Bottom line: Lee is big and fast and can catch the ball, but he has physical and mental limitations as a receiver and a blocker. After an unimpressive showing during his pre draft workouts, Lee has moved down into the mid-fourth round range.

Dan Pompei analysis
Productive junior whose stock is rising. Catches well, but sometimes body-catches. Competes for the ball. Runs solid routes. Gets yards after the catch. Has good size. Lacks top-end speed, but finds a way to get the job done. Concentration could be better.
No. 9 on Pompei's WR rankings

Did Martin Nance of Miami-Oh get drafted? He was a top pick until he hurt his knee 2 years ago. I don't remember him being selected.
