Josh Jackson wants the Suns to draft Ayton with the #1 pick. I say let Josh have his way. He brought us luck today.

"For me personally I would have to say DeAndre Ayton," Jackson told ESPN while discussing which prospect he thought he would fit best with Phoenix. "A kid I've been knowing for five- or six-plus years. I've watched him grow from a freshman to a senior in [high school], and I've seen him improve every year, adding something more to his game. Before his shot wasn't really that good and now you got to respect it, you can't leave him open because he can knock it down. He's got so much potential and he's such a hard worker, that's probably who I would go with."

There you have it.
Can Josh be a player and GM?

I kinda feel good for the Kings. They seem like a team that could use a little luck.

I love them! Got to play a custom KOA with new V-bracing. Took every ounce of energy not to buy it on the spot and add to my collection.
I'm more into the electric side of things guitar wise but their quality is top notch

They got Fox. What more do they want. :)

Actually I think they jumped from #7 to #2 in the lottery.

I wager Ayton is at minimum putting up 18-10 right out of the gate. And only getting better as he learns the game and develops even more physically.

No way Doncic is putting up those numbers as a rookie... and quite likely never will. Barring injury, Ayton's floor is probably Doncic's ceiling... and I mean the very tip-top of his ceiling.

I hope there is no way the Suns can possibly blow this.

Interesting comment by McDonough. I want to keep at least one other pick for the fun of it.

He sounds serious about the rebuild if this is true.

If you've looked at the list of potential free agent PG's that makes sense, trading for one would be our best bet to try and compete with Ayton next year. Maybe swing for Kemba?

Here's a list from Hoopshype, they list Payton at #3 and honestly, that's probably where he belongs. It's a really shallow list.

Exactly.

If this is true (what McDonough reportedly said) he is going to add veterans now and push up the Suns timeline. Trades are the way to do it for the most part.

He will still have future draft picks so they are not mortgaging their future.

In my wet dream, we package 16, 31, the Miami pick or something like our pick next year top 5 protected... and jump back into the top 7 and get Trae Young.

If we can't swing that then I'd rather they made a push to sign Rondo than trade a bunch of picks for Walker.

We need to keep Len around to mentor Ayton. Time to pony up some money!

Ayton and Young.
Doncic and Bamba.

Either of those sets of players would have been fantastic.

The Suns should be adding three point shooters galore. That should be a prerequisite for any new addition. Add Ayton and then add players who can space the floor.

Yes. Shooting was a huge weakness for the Suns.

They need a point guard who can shoot now.

This.

Booker, Jackson, and Ayton could combine to form an amazing foundation. Ayton and Jackson may develop three point shots but I don't think that will ever be the focus of either player's game.

That's potentially three elite playmakers, so the Suns should have guys at the 1 and 4 who can provide great spacing.

especially if Igor's motion offense is legit. If it is and it's not super PG heavy, getting 3 and D guys at PG/PF would round out a very impressive starting 5.
