They need a point guard who can shoot now.
Getting Dragic back won’t cost much IMO. He won Eurobaskst MVP with Kokoskov so he won’t be heartbroken from passing in Doncic, lol.

especially if Igor's motion offense is legit. If it is and it's not super PG heavy, getting 3 and D guys at PG/PF would round out a very impressive starting 5.

Dragic is already in decline, he makes a TON of money and I suspect even if all it cost us was Miami's pick in 2021 we'd be thinking to ourselves... "****!!!" once it came about.

Luc Mbah a Moute would be a good target at the right price, assuming he recovers from this shoulder injury that has him struggling in the playoffs.
THREE #1's and a solid 15-20ppg guy for (I'm assuming) Doncic?
I just can't get on board with that.
He makes peanuts compared to some other PG’s. Booker is much better scoring option than anything Dragic had. I’m not even a Goran fanboy either.

my secret hope is that somehow my biggest whipping boy... Bender... grows a set of huevos and becomes a solid three point shooting stretch 4... or Chriss learns how to dunk and gets consistent.
It would be great for the home-grown talent to grow up together. That's what happened with GS and I think it's what's led to sacrifice money wise because they all have built something so damn special and different.
That prob DOESN'T happen here, but a man can dream and that's what tonight is ALL ABOUT!
He's making nearly 20 million a year and he is on the wrong side of 30, he is not a distributor, he does not like playing without the ball in his hands, he is a terrible defender and he relies heavily on quickness, when it starts to go for him it is going to go FAST, I want no part of paying a cost of picks AND salary for that.
You are kidding, right? Tell me you're kidding. "Today, class, we're covering Inconsistency 101. Homework assignment for tomorrow, hard hands."
Maybe it’s just me...... but is anyone worried about what the future of the NBA looks like for big men?
No dominant bigs for the past few years have made an impact in the playoffs. Capela, Horford, Green, and Thompson in final four while Davis, Embid, and others sit at home.
A league trending more and more towards 3 pointers and pace of play.
Ayton is a remarkably poor defender adding to our current issues.
I’m not advocating for Doncic, just don’t think this becomes what you all think it may become. He’s not Duncan, Robinson, Olajuwon, or even Anthony Davis IMO. And he may not even be a Jokic level player in this league. Hell.....He’s not even the prospect Oden was as his defensive liabilities really detract from any offensive impact he may have.
Who really knows though. I may be viewed as a fool in 3 years but damn...... I didn’t expect this much drooling over him. Even the usual pessimists are beaming!

I am implying that the league is moving more and more towards the perimeter. And that a dominant center needs to hit threes at a 40 percent clip to even be successful when his defense is as inconsistent as Ayton has shown us so far.Are you implying that those teams came up short because of their big men? Because, if not, I don't really see the relevance here. I do agree that Ayton might be less than we hope for but he has enough skills to survive in the modern NBA.
@Poop Head
I didn't really answer your question about Kemba Walker. The problem with Walker is he is only under contract for next season and he will be looking for a big contract thereafter.
I worry about the Suns being able to keep him in FA and pay the salary he will command.
Otherwise, there is a lot to like.
Understood. So this has been my concern as well. I LOVE Doncic. LOVE LOVE LOVE Doncic
And I still take Ayton 1. His ceiling is the Admiral. If you get a chance at it, you have to take it.

I see centers as more expendable than ball dominant 2s and 3s who can create their own shots, and don’t rely on others passing them the rock.
But again.... I may be wrong and this guy turns into a 7 foot Lebron James in 3 years.

I would easily. He’s still productive and would thrive as a third scorer at this point of his career. 18m for a 17/4/4 guy is nothing really. I would not give the unprotected Heat pick though.
