Fans who thought he'd have a better chance of winning with Team X or Y and those who thought he'd want to return to his hometown, Minny.
They weren't going to pay him $11 million like we were. ;)

I think we give him a contract this year, that is palatable to all. Next year will increase the price with Herbert and Burrow also up for extension.

You're talking about 2 of the best quarterbacks in the game with proven track records of winning, both with SB rings and multiple playoff wins like they are chumps and Kyler is in the same league. He isn't.

The only thing Kyler has on them is years.

on Rodgers there's a bunch of talk about him or Brady and the 49ers and some of the stuff has suggested people think Rodgers hurt his shoulder late this year. If people recall he had that toe injury and had to change the way he was throwing to prevent putting too much pressure on the toe when he pushed off. Some insiders apparently think that hurt his shoulder and it's why he looked so mediocre against SF.

I'm unconvinced, SF had a great defense, and before that game he'd thrown 20TD's and 0 picks in his last 7 games so if he hurt his shoulder did it just happen in the playoff game?

Great player but at his age with the last 2 years of off field distractions I'd be surprised he plays that much longer.

Wilson I love and he's "only" 33 and still in good shape, the concern is he got hit so much in Seattle, 427 sacks in his Seattle career that he might not play as long as some guys are.

I want to keep Kyler and improve him but if we had to trade him Wilson would make lots of sense to me. I am afraid of Watson off the field as I've said many times, if that fear goes away due to legal changes, the market for him will be huge but we should at least ask the question. But my preference is keep Kyler and help him improve, bring in another QB coach , fix the WR room since we only have D Hop and Rondale locked down right now, fix the TE and RB situation for same reason.

I think it's easier to coach an existing QB than find another good one. Wilson and Watson are sort of special cases as they both appear to want to move on and are very good players still, but again Watson has a huge cloud over his head right now.

Remember when Peyton Manning was a free agent and he was looking for teams to join? He even came here for a cursory look. He then decided on Denver. If there was some weird chance that Rodgers/Wilson/Watson were available, the same thing would happen. We just aren't that attractive as a franchise or as a football team that is super close to winning it all.

Denver is the team that is IMO going to make a run at any of the QB's who become available. Miami less clear now that they changed coaches.

Denver has wr's, RB's, a good defense and a draft pick and allegedly willing to move Jeudy to get a QB. The problem is it's not clear Seattle will trade Wilson, not clear if Rodgers wants to play anymore, and nobody knows on Watson.

well 70% of the fan base to this point either want to get rid of Kyler or make him play it out on rookie deal at this point. Only 15% want to pay the man now. Although I get the feeling @kerouac9 is trolling with his poll selection considering his posts all season long.

Way to endear yourself to your hometown fans Kyler GREAT JOB BUD!

I think Kyler should fire his current agent and attain Gandalf's services since for that hobbit it seemed to have worked out... remember Kyler Baggins, the DL is drawn to the football, and it wants to be sacked, so keep it in your pocket (OL)

Kyler isn't worth 45 Mio $ a year. Even if the TV deal "explodes" and gives more money, it can't be all alocated on the QB, winning SB doesn't work like that.

First when I read the statement, I thought, what Kyler wanted to say with it, than I thought maybe he really made a great deal, 25 Mio$ a year and so on... but than it was reported 275 Mio for 6 years, that would cripple the FA and resigning and you could only replenish with drafting.

Overall, now, knowing that Kyler didn't want to run but KK had designed runs for him, knowing how he reacted on Buddas injurie, knowing he benched himself in the playoff... gosh this guy has nerves. The total imposter syndrom, that you see some guys have nowadays. Coming into a new company, telling they can do everything and anything and are the best, but you never see them doing the work and the rest that is needed, to be one of the best.

Now I can't imagine how Kyler wants to win a playoff game, hence a Super Bowl with his leadership skills, his demenor and his aversion of learning tendecies and study film.

Don't get me wrong, he has all the talent and maybe he can put it together, but at the moment, it looks like he is more I than team. And at the end, it is difficult to win in the NFL.

But we will see.

In theory the Cards have him at around 39 Mio $ a year for the next 4 years I don't klnow if his offer makes any sense for them since only.

The only leverage that Kyler has, is not playing at all and getting no money ... probably even worse solution.

Gambo says a trade demand will follow if the deal isn't done in two weeks.

The agent pushed this knowing that Kingsbury was about to get rewarded so he wants the same for Kyler.

Multiple teams will be in on a trade and will happily pay him what he wants

So hearing all and Gambo scooping the extension means his source is probably Kylers agent

So this has to be resolved this week. Sign him or trade him this week.

Don't let this get deeper in the weeds than it is. No one is going to sign here with a QB publicly holding out / demanding a trade until it's resolved.

Never going to happen. This will drag out at least until the draft.

I really hope he does get traded after extending Kliffy and Kiem.. this just makes no sense.

You are spot on - multiple will want to trade him and gladly pay him. Don’t care that the IHKC doesn’t like Kyler, that’s 100% the reality. Blind and emotional if you believe elsewise.

Here in the Denver area, they are thrilled that this is going on with Kyler. It just means another high quality QB may fall into their laps if the Cards want to trade him for example.

There's no reason to make a knee-jerk reaction. K1's agent is trying to get a $40mil/year QB a $50+mil contract. His leverage is flimsy at best. Reacting on impulse is how Keim has failed as GM

Full size Cardinal speed helmets autographed by Kyler are going from 350-400 right now. I’ll sell mine for 300 even that way you’re not paying tax or shipping… Any takers? I’ll even throw in the 80.00 case for free…..

The asinine extensions are the real root cause here.

I would think the reverse. I would think Kyler is reassured that he's going to have Kliff for the foreseeable.

I would think the last thing Kyler would want was to sign a long term deal without knowing who his HC is going to be and being at risk of having to learn a whole new system and the years of upheaval that full coaching changes often bring.

I've said this before. Kyler limits who your head coach can be. Do you really see him playing under center in a west coast offense?`(It also limits his trade destinations)

If true, you look for a trade with a giant haul that you just can't ignore. At least 3 #1s, a #2, maybe a couple #3s. KM is supposedly so well coveted in the league, you should be able to get a haul like this. If you can't, then tell him to pound sand, sit, and freaking whine. When it becomes apparent he's going to lose money hand over fist and never, ever get his way, he'll be back. And if he wants paid, he'll play well.

The very LAST thing you do is cave and give him everything he wants. That would be worst-case scenario.
