Sixers tried to trade Evan Turner to draft Goodwin?

That's a trade I'd make pretty quickly. And I like Goodwin.

Turner's a guy who needs the ball in his hands to be effective. He isn't much of a shooter or slasher really. Considering we already have two primary ball handlers in our starting lineup with Goran and Bledsoe, Turner may not be a good fit.

If you're not a tough shot blocking center and/or 40%+ 3 point shooter the Suns do not want you.

Well, if Bledsoe is going to be out for more than just a week or so we're going to need some help. I really like the idea of Thaddeus Young on the Suns although I'm certain he'll be overpriced. I think they are doing their best to showcase him with the hopes of driving up his value. I watched their game against the Wolves and I don't know if that was typical or not but he basically played a one man zone. He rarely guarded anyone, just floated from spot to spot. I couldn't tell if it was by design or not although it did lead to one spectacular block.

I wouldn't mind a PF that can score inside and knock down jumpers consistently and play d and rebound at a decent level.

Do you see one that might possibly be available? Boozer maybe? He has a reputation for disappearing in big moments though. I'd prefer Young but he is no better than Frye as a rebounder and from what I've seen he's not his equal defensively either. OTOH, if we can do it and keep Frye he might be a great fit at the small forward spot. Then we can package the Morris brothers with picks and go after Asik or someone like that.

At SF, the Suns need a 3 & D guy. Look around the NBA. SAS, Miami, Houston, LAC, Indiana, OKC, Portland are all the best teams in the NBA and they al have a SF that plays great defense and provides good if not great shooting from 3.

I don't think Young will be capable of consistently putting up 20+ a night. But I'll admit, I don't know much about his game. Anything I say about him is based on hearsay and what I have seen from him in games against the Suns.

Boozer's such a joke defensively so no.

I like Taj Gibson a lot. He's actually capable of knocking down jumpers and is a beast defensively and good rebounding wise also. Tough guy.

Perfect PF for the Suns. Space the floor enough and bring some toughness to our soft front court.

Too physical, he'd foul out in the first quarter. You can't play that way for the Suns, the league just won't allow it. Maybe if our whole team started playing physically the refs would start to give us a break but at first it would be like Kurt Thomas part two. He was stunned at the difference in what he could and couldn't do playing for us.

Honestly, I'm fine with that. I think he will adjust to fouls when getting starter's minutes just like Bledsoe did but I want that physical and toughness.

Who was the last actual physical tough big man we had? Shaq back like 6 ago?

Hayward had 37 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists last night against the Thunder in a Jazz victory.

I believe he and coach Hornacek were very close in Utah.

Just sayin

Not a star, but Lance Stephenson will be an unrestricted free agent in 2014. Admittedly, he doesn't fulfill our biggest needs, but he's young, already playing well and still improving his game.

Among the 17 SF's who have who've played 900+ minutes this year, Hayward is below average in virtually every category except assists... and he's trying his best to inflate his stats. Thats not a max player in my book. Outside of assists, Thaddeus Young tops him across the board by a good margin.

I'd be interested in Hayward on a contract similar to what Gallinari is being paid (4 years 42 mil), but a max player he isnt. And obviously Utah would not let him walk for that cheap.

I've been wanting the Suns to get Kevin Love ever since I pulled this trade off in NBA 2k10. Dude is a beast on that game!:biglaugh:

Seriously though I still think it's the same old problem for the suns. Need someone who can dominate in the low post. But that's easier said than done kinda like finding a QB in the NFL.

He's also not getting much help on a bad Utah team. I think he's a pretty good player but I worry about his possible contract demands too. For me, it boils down to Hornacek who knows him very well. If Jeff wants him, I hope we get him.

Don't underestimate Utah fans love for players that don't have the mark of Cain.

This guy seems to believe the Suns are sellers and everybody must go except Blesoe.

that's date the 28th of december i think, kind of old. there's no one on the kings i'd like, maybe cousins if he continues to mature and grow defensively. but thats a stretch still.

our young new gm would be a fool to give up Dragic now since he's proven how valuable he is with Bledsoe out again. especially on the sweet deal he is on.

Chad Ford has stated all along that we are still tanking so this article is just more of the same thing IMO. Maybe he's right but I find it hard to believe that someone so far removed from the Phoenix situation would continue to take this stand given that just about everyone else has acknowledged they were wrong. For me, he loses a little more credibility every day that goes by without him admitting he was just guessing and his guesses were way off base.

This is at least the 4th time this season that I've read something from him that insists we are actively trying to trade Goran. I don't believe it although the package mentioned in that thread might draw some interest depending on the draft picks. Just about anyone is available if you're willing to over-spend to get him.

I was more amused by Chad Ford calling the Suns sellers. Does he even watch any games? The 28th is not that long ago.

What do you think of Greg Monroe, Steve?

Doesn't rely on jumpers for most or all of his pts, is a pretty good rebounder though his defense anything special.

Still an upgrade for us at PF. Monroe imo is actually a starting caliber PF on a contending team. He would take a ton of pressure off Dragic and Bledsoe as well.

Plus he's only 23 and still improving.

Greg Monroe doesn't have all the traits I like in most players (athleticism, size, defense) but he'd be solid. Good size, solid rebounder, and can pass from high post - I'm hoping his defense isn't too bad considering lack of athleticism.

I'd Trade Morris brothers and a couple Picks. IMO, that'd be an upgrade. Most of my Trade option are Picks and Okafor's expiring because I didn't want to break up nucleus of Team; though with Bledsoe going down with injury I'm guessing finding a SF with ball handling ability (on cheap) would be harder to pull off now. Suns can run offense thru Monroe and I'm hoping they'd be able to resign him a tad bit under max deal, for next year.

Channing Frye and P.J. Tucker could back-up Monroe. Though with possible extra roster spot in Trade, Suns could add depth at the 4. He'd be a lot cheaper to add than Kevin Love!

Exactly my thought process. I wouldn't mind giving up Len either if that's what they really want.
