Scored two XBOX ONEs at Target yesterday (one for my son and one for me). To be honest, I was willing to get either a PS4 or XBOX ONE. Basically whichever I could get my hands on. XBOX ONE is what I could get my hands on first.

I have already been playing the PS4 at my buddies house. Now I have been playing the XBOX ONE. I have to say...the games are indistinguishable. Fanboyism aside you are going to see no difference in the games.

So far, IMO the PS4 is better in terms of some of the social features and the sharing feature is beyond cool. There might be a slight edge in visuals with the PS4. However, I like the XBOX ONE interface and multimedia features and the controller is still best in class. Although the PS4 controller is pretty cool and closed that gap considerably IMO.

The Sony OS for the most part still sucks IMO. The XBOX ONE interface is more streamlined and much more user friendly.

Probably long term, you are going to get more of a ceiling with the PS4 in terms of graphics but I don't know how the cloud is going to factor in the long run with the XBOX ONE. It could easily raise the ceiling with the XBOX ONE long term.

Overall pretty happy with the XBOX ONEs but I will pick up a PS4 at some point. I just could not get my hands on one. My neighbor already has a dead PS4 though....it died after a week....that worries me. His PS4 stopped reading discs.

So far so good with the XBOX ONE hardware.

Yeah our Xbox One has been totally awesome! Kids are on it constantly.

Totally love how just walking into the room it signs you in and says hi. Super cool! Voice commands work great although the Xbox has a hard time understanding my 7 year old which is not shocking. I have no problems with the voice commands and they work every time for me.

Setting up the kids accounts was kind of a PITA but once I figured it out thing have been great.

The bundle came with Call of Duty and I picked up some games for the kids: Just Dance, Lego Marvel Superheros, and Forza Motorsports 5.

Just Dance is great. It's the only game we have that fully uses the Kinect sensor. Super fun and perfect for parties. Love how it makes a funny movie of you at the end. Great for all ages. My 5 year old nephew loved this game and forced my kids to do the same song (In the Summertime) over and over with him. It was pretty damn funny though

My 7 year old son won't put down Lego Marvel Superheros. Loves it and it looks pretty cool. Pretty much like other Lego games he has on the old Wii. Still it is well done and he loves it.

I really like Forza Motorsports 5. I suck at racing games but love the look of this one. The Cars all look real. I mean they Really look real. You can see the flake in the paint and reflections of the environment that you pass by. The attention to detail is amazing. Just bought my dream car with the credits that I have earned so far (a black Maserati) but haven't got to drive it yet since the kids are always on the Xbox.

Played a little of CoD but I like Battlefield 4 better and I like playing it better on the PC. Kind of disappointed that you can't do 4 player on it. I remember doing 4 player slayer on the old Halo games and it was a blast. I bought 4 controllers but have no games that I can use all 4 of them on. My fault for not checking but still disappointing.

Also just configured it for my Amazon Instant Video account. Works great and Easy to configure. I currently don't have a TV outlet next to this system but will be fixing that in a few weeks. So I will report back on how this system works as a full media center later.

I know COD has 2 player, not sure about 4 player. I was stoked about this though. Not all of the CODs have had 2 player online.

I do remember 4 player slayer on halo - Most game companies forget that you have friends and family come over and focus 100% on online play muliplayer only. its disappointing. I cant even name the amount of games that would be sick coop in my living room but the only way to play with others is via live.

I would assume the squads mode has 4 player local but maybe not.

Battlefield 4 on the Xbox doesn't even have a split screen mode. It's one player only unless you play online vs other single players.

CoD only has 2 player which is at least better than only 1.

The Xbox can handle up to 8 controllers. Too bad none of the current games can handle more than 2 players.

Crossing my fingers that the new Halo will have a 4 person mode.

Going to play with the XBOX TV integration feature tonight. For those that don't know...you can allegedly hook up an HDMI source (DirecTV) and use the XBOX ONE as a Universal Remote for that source.

By the way...the mulch-media features of the XBOX ONE is pretty cool. This thing actually feels like its from the future. :)

from my memory, Halo always had 4 player local. After about 6 months I plan to sign up for gamefly and get to test the waters, for now not many of the games interest me. I have been eyeballing need for speed though - not into simulator games.

I dont have cable but my buddy does and apparently his tv turns off and on with the xbox as well, mine are still seperate as i dont have cable so it doesnt recognise those features. So once you do, xbox on will also turn on your tv. Awesome. Youll also be able to adjust volume and etc with your voice.

Its pretty sweet to have my xbox already on and call of duty already loaded once I sit down. Then it signs me in before I even grab the controller. Awesome.

LAst night after a multiplayer session of COD during the intermission I hit the dashboard, pulled up the zoo tycoon demo and set it to download and came back to COD before my next game even started. My daughter was like "woah thats cool" I concur.

dissapointed with the wave racer game on kinect that they have to play for free right now. Dont liuke the controls, dont think its fun. Hopefully the rest of the sports game is much better.

I have noticed when playing with kinect it is SO much better than the old one and regosnises me fully in all types of lighting instead of needing spotlights behind the TV for it to work.

also if it stopes recognising you, you can say it didnt recognise you and it will further calibrate it to you. I had this happen last night after I shaved off my November beard. Also happened when I had a hat on. The more you do it the more it can recognise you in different situations.

Too bad Halo isn't set to release until December 31, 2014. :bang:

At least that is what Amazon says. Crazy that they will miss Christmas by a week next year.

yeah I work up one morning with major bed head and it didn't recognize me. But then again neither did my kids. :D

Tried with a hat on and it didnt recognize me as well. Didn't know that you could calibrate it for those situations. Will have to try that.

There is only one HDMI port for that so I wonder how it controls his cable and his TV?!?! Now I really want to play with it to figure out what it does.

I am really only playing BF4 at this point. Call of "doody" is only good for the single player campaign. I have not tried FORZA 5 yet or RYSE but I will eventually.

The XBOX ONE market has very very few DEMO's at this point to increase their attach rate and get people to buy launch games. At $59.99 per pop after scoring two XBOX ONE's that aint gonna happen.

I won't buy games to have multiple games at launch. If I can't find a place to rent or try at a buddies house, my library might be really sparse until the next wave of games comes out.

Gamefly is where its at fopr renting. REDBOX also carries games. Lots of day ones are at a discount as well right now for 50 bucks. . And I love COD multiplayer, its all ive done so far = P

As far as the tv stuff, the cable goes HDMI in and then the HDMI out goes to the tv. When you go through the tv setup it will calbrate everything for you so that the xbox is controlling your cable AND your tv. its a very easy set up process.

Xbox on will turn everything on, same as xbox turn off.

I watched a buddys video of ryse. It looks like a boring button masher from what I saw  its supposed to be the xbox god of war but its no god of war from those videos.

Here are a couple of future release games on the Xbox One that sound really interesting to me:

Fable Legends
4 player co-op. with a twist by adding a 5th player acting as a vilian, viewing the map from a top-down perspective and placing enemies, traps, ambushes and more for the four heroes to overcome.

You must be registered for see images attach

Below
It is a top-down adventure game that places a heavy emphasis on replay value by way of a high difficulty and permanent character death

That fable sounds more like diablo than fable? If so I may be interested. Not a big fan of regular fable but ive only played fable 3, put a few hours in and just didnt really like it.

Plus 1 player RPG games are just so damn time consuming - much easier to play 3 quick games of COD.

The below description reminds me of how how NES is. I got one recently for my son and had forgotton that EVERYTHING is HARD!!!

Spelunky on 360 arcade was similar. Awesome but incredibly hard. Never officially beat it even with the massiv ehours I sunk into it.

I am sort of looking forward to the new HALO but really looking forward to Bungie's DESTINY in 2014. They have a reputation for pushing Microsoft hardware to the limit. I have a feeling that will blow the next HALO out of the water.

The one I can't wait to get my hands on really though? Titanfall. I really want to play that game.

All i know about it is it is mechwarrior type gaming, which generally makes me not interested. You piqued my curiosity and while wiki searching it I found this
Following Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's release, Activision fired Infinity Ward co-founders Jason West and Vince Zampella in March 2010 for "breaches of contract and insubordination".[13][14] Their departure resulted in a series of lawsuits[14] and a staff exodus.[15][16] Later that year, West and Zampella founded a game development company, Respawn Entertainment, with many of the former Infinity Ward staff.[14]

So the guys responcible for the massive acceleration of the COD franchise are the guys behind this company. That makes me very interested. I will still rent it first as I have never enjoyed a game with mechwarriors but if they are at the helm it has promise.
