    Is something up with Warner...

    No. I hadn't noticed this.

    Is something up with Warner...

Dude, he pretty clearly doesn't hate Warner. Saying that isn't doing any good for anybody.

    Advice for Kurt Warner

Man, is this thing ever running in circles now.

    Is something up with Warner...

Er... trade for Aeneas Williams? :D I dunno how applicable the Rams 2000-2001 defensive changes are to the Cardinals' situation. The Rams had huge areas of the defense that were so terrible ANYTHING would have been better, and had spare parts of value to cash in for people to fill those...

    Advice for Kurt Warner

I honestly don't want to get into this too much, but: Rodgers has 8 fumbles, 3 of them lost, compared to Warner's 9, 6 of them lost. In playing the blame game the 8 vs. 9 is actually a better comparison than the 3 vs. 6, because which team recovers a fumble is a crapshoot.

    Drew Brees/Kurt Warner MVP race???

People are generally good at putting people into black and white good vs. evil categories. You get one guy saying Warner's playing "like a retard on acid" and then everybody who says he's not playing like a god gets tossed into the same category as that guy. Or the other way around. I just...

    Advice for Kurt Warner

It's worth pointing out that he had more than 200 yards before the half and they dialed the offense back after the Dockett TD. It was pretty obvious they weren't going to be very aggressive from that point on.

    Advice for Kurt Warner

No. Sorry, gotta disagree. While I love Fitz, Boldin and Breaston, they aren't as good as the Bruce-Holt-Hakim combo was because they aren't as explosive. There's 26 receivers in the league this year who have more yards per catch than Fitz, who has the best of the three. Holt and Bruce blew...

    Drew Brees/Kurt Warner MVP race???

Nah. His biggest problem is that he hasn't played that great the last few weeks. I do think some folks have overstated how bad he's been, for whatever reason. But he hasn't played like an MVP since the last 49er game.

This game should be a cakewalk

Far from a cakewalk. However, I like the matchup for the Cardinals for a couple of reasons... whether Frerotte or Jackson gets the start, the Vikings will have a mistake-prone QB in there. The Cards need to stack the box, cheat to stop the run, and make the QB beat their secondary. The...

    Advice for Kurt Warner

I think he may have been referring to Edgerrin James as the declining HOFer.

    Advice for Kurt Warner

No, that column is for the fumbles Moon personally recovered in 1990. There's a difference. And even if that weren't the case, you'd seriously hang your hat on a year when a guy fumbled 18 times and somehow only lost 4? fumble recoveries are essentially random.

    Advice for Kurt Warner

That would be what I was saying. Y'know, context? How I said he had more opportunities to fumble and throw interceptions because of the attempts. *sigh* You didn't actually read what I said, did you?

    Advice for Kurt Warner

You do realize that Moon fumbled 18 times that year, right? Draw Warner's numbers out to equal those 584 pass attempts for Moon, and you've got just under 14 INTs to Moon's 13. And you've got under 11 fumbles to Moon's 18. I don't think you really bolstered your point very much with that...

    Advice for Kurt Warner

The Cards are tied for 8th in the league in team turnovers given up with 24. 18 of those are on Warner, 12 picks and 6 fumbles. That's as many or more than 13 teams, which isn't great, obviously. (And 8 of those 13 teams are in the playoff picture, naturally.) I believe he does lead the...

Must get #2 or #3 Seed...

Um... seeding is important. The Cards still have a chance at a bye, as well. This is not a situation in which resting key players will even faintly have a glimmer of a tiny chance of beginning to cross the mind of Whisenhunt or anybody else in the organization.

    Advice for Kurt Warner

God, this board is turning into the bad Rams boards I thought I'd stopped going to.

Must get #2 or #3 Seed...

Came in to say this. Unfortunately, at this point the Giants have a better shot at losing the #1 seed than the Cards do of securing the #2 seed. Whoever wins tonight has a two game lead on the Cards with three to play. And if it's Carolina, they also have the head to head tiebreaker. I was...

Yeah. They've still got a location in the outskirts of St. Louis, but the main one that was within a stone's throw of old Busch Stadium is gone.

    jim hart

Passing stats have inflated since the '70s. The five yard chuck rule came in since the beginning of Hart's career, and all the changes to the rules have favored the passing game. There's a reason that the career leaders in passer rating all played in the last 15 years or so... Steve Young...

    The Warner of Old

3 INTs against Philly. 1 INT each against the Seahawks and Giants. Zero against the 49ers. 5 total in four games. One lost fumble against the Giants, the same against the Seahawks. None against the Eagles or 49ers. 2 total in four games. That's 7 turnovers in four games, not 10. I'm not...

OT: Is Bill Belichick the reason for Tom Brady's success?

That's what the Offensive Player of the Year is for. :) I'm still seeing people listing Warner as the favorite for MVP, because the Saints face an uphill battle for a playoff spot. If they make it, though, he'll almost certainly win the MVP.

    Patriots/Cards game could be "flexed"

It could wind up being meaningful for seed, though.

    JJ needs to start

Just a quick comparison of the rankings of the defenses faced by James and Hightower. Yardage is listed, then average per carry, and then the opponent's rank, first by raw yardage allowed, and then by yards per carry. It's actually striking how few bad run defenses the Cards have faced. The...

I'm to blame for the Giant loss...

I had to leave for work at the half. By the time I got in and all set up with Gamecast, I'd missed Warner's fumble. Later I had to leave my station for awhile to go help somebody... and I missed the interception. I was watching, listening, or had the Gamecast up for every Cardinals score. So...
