    First round bye?

I'd love to see the Lions do it too, but I have no faith in Culpepper. He looked like the 2005+ Culpepper to me, yesterday. Even the passes that worked weren't crisp, and that 4th quarter INT was one of the worst I've ever seen in terms of decisions. He looks physically better than he has the...

    Warner's interception--WR thoughts

Didn't look to me like his falling down had anything to do with the ball being intercepted. It was a bad throw, period. Throw the ball 40+ times in a game, and there will be some bad throws in there. And just last week, Urban made a very nice grab on a high fastball over the middle that could...

    Racker's Power

His touchback percentage is way down... 14.8% compared to being in the 30s in '04 and '05, and the 20s the past two years. 14.8 isn't good... it's 19th in the league among players with 10 or more kickoffs.

if warner went on to win the mvp...

If he wins the MVP, I don't think there's a chance on earth that he's not in a Cardinals uniform next year, because they aren't going to insult him, and he's going to want to stay. With one caveat: If the Cards win it all, my guess is that Warner would retire.

Too Much Is Made on the Running Game

If you're one-dimensional, you make things that much harder on the one dimension you do have. The most impressive thing about the Cardinal passing game is that it's being done while the opposing teams don't have to respect the run much at all. The most discouraging things about the running...

Singletary, Martz Complain About Bad Information

They wanted 12 seconds back on the clock? What game were they watching? Four seconds with them lined up and ready was more than fair given that they couldn't get lined up properly for the spike before then when the clock was running as it should have been. They got a gift of another play when...

    Colin Cowherd rips the Cards

Cowherd's job is to make inflammatory statements to get people to talk about Colin Cowherd. Guess what we're doing?

    Breaston...

Those guys, plus I think, the Skins with Monk, Sanders and Clark. Seems like the Chargers did it once too, with Fouts. Maybe more, but I don't recall.

    Warner 121.9 passer rating

Collins and Haynesworth won't happen. The Titans will lose a couple games in the second half, and the bloom will be off the rose enough for the "It's gotta be a Titan!" people to fade away. Nobody on that team is a legit MVP candidate... it's a team effort there, no doubt, and there just isn't...

    Give Mike Martz a bottle.....

Bottom line, Martz horribly mismanaged the clock, which shouldn't surprise anyone who has watched his teams in the past. In an ideal world, the officials call the spot correctly in the first place, so the review doesn't change anything. Still, even discarding the point of the penalty on the...

Mike Martz is a flaming idiot.

I wouldn't hire him as an OC anymore. I don't think his ego will allow him to be filtered enough to be effective anymore. Plus, the league has caught up to what he does. And since he refuses to adjust much, he's just not that effective anymore.

Mike Martz is a flaming idiot.

Yep. He's got a lot of ideas about how teams should do things differently, and he doesn't accept conventional wisdom. Which is fine. I happen to agree that a lot of things teams do they do because they're hidebound and unwilling to try anything different, so I'm all for going outside the norm...

I hope they take that draw play and burn it

That one catch of a too-high fastball was a thing of beauty. The type of throw that often turns into a pick because it sails and/or gets tipped, and Urban made it a big positive.

Mike Martz is a flaming idiot.

Nah. Martz was a huge reason that Warner has a ring. (And vice versa, obviously.) Since then, his ego has gotten bigger and bigger and bigger to the point that I'm surprised he can get his head through the hole of a shirt that doesn't have buttons.

    Not unhappy in the least

Far as I'm concerned, if you complete 75% of your passes for 300 yards, 3 TDs and no turnovers, you get to praise anybody you like. In all seriousness, it wasn't "Jesus won us this football game" like you hear sometimes. Like CardLogic said, it was about appreciating his opportunities, and I...

WTF happened to our balls of steel, gambling coach?

They went for it and converted for a TD on a huge 4th and 1, don't forget. I don't think Whisenhunt's balls have gone anywhere. In fact, on that series you're complaining about, the by-the-book approach would have been to run it three times and make certain that the clock gets well under 2:00...

Who wants to get rid of Boldin, now??

Always will be. There were Niners fans who wanted to dump Joe Montana when he still had two more Super Bowl wins in him.

Tonights Game = More than just the 9ers!

They're all statement games, at least for the next week. This one is a test of mental toughness. Niners have a new coach trying to instill a new attitude, and they've had time to prepare. Good teams need to be able to get past that and just step on the necks of weaker teams. This week needs...

Maybe the Jim Haslett contract extension talk was a tad premature

That pretty much sums it up. There's maybe a half-dozen guys on that roster who are worth salvaging.

    Warner's play

Evolution has absolutely nothing to do with this discussion. Unless you just meant the evolution of modern medicine.
