    Suns @ Magic 12-26-18

I could see him improving much like Buddy Hield. He's a hard worker, is smart, and got significantly better each year in college. I'm very high on his upside.

    Suns @ Magic 12-26-18

I'm just glad the Suns have five players that can be called a defensive unit now!

Not only did Augustin throw himself into Bridges, there was minimal if any contact even after that.

    2019 Draft Prospects...

As of now, this is the guy I'm most interested in for the Suns if they don't luck into Zion.

Poll - Igor Kokoskov's Future With the Suns

I'll admit I was a bit reactionary on Igor. I loved the hire at first, but when you're 4-24 and getting blown out regularly, it's hard to be a fan of a head coach. These past four games have been an absolute joy. And when we show some signs of regression (inevitable in a long season), I'll try...

    Josh Jackson

    Rick Robey...Ricky Rubio. Coincidence?
  7. ColdPickleNachos

    Josh Jackson

Agreed. And it's hard right now to see a point guard good enough to qualify for that kind of trade becoming available. Right now, there's only five teams in the league who likely don't see themselves as a playoff team. Everyone else is right there in the running, meaning they are unlikely to...

    Kelly Oubre Jr.

That is very encouraging. My biggest takeaway is his defensive versatility. In this video, he's guarding waterbug point guards like Thomas and Walker, scoring wings like Booker, Butler, and George, and even bigs like Horford and Greek Freak. Makes me think the Suns could use him in a lot of...

Per Woj - Suns waiving Rivers

He's played in 3 games and a total of 16 minutes on the season, so this is completely unfair and means nothing... But Brandon Knight currently has a -5.31 PER. I didn't even realize PER could be a negative number!

Trevor Ariza to Washington for Kelly Oubre and Austin Rivers.

Ariza had an impressive stat line in his first game (this season) for the Wizards, including 6 steals. However, he also shot 6-17 and the Wizards lost by 8. To the Hawks. The Hawks. They lost. To the Atlanta Hawks. :biglaugh:

    Latest on possible Ariza trade

The issue here is I don't see a path where a Lakers trade would have worked out. Reports say we wanted one of their young pieces. That's Ball, Kuzma, Ingram, or Hart. There is no way the Lakers do that. So if those players are off the table, what could the Lakers even have given us? Nothing as...

Trevor Ariza to Washington for Kelly Oubre and Austin Rivers.

The original deal was mostly for Dillon Brooks. Rivers was salary filler in both deals. The market for Rivers was Ernie Grunfeld. Once even he realized how bad he was, no GM left is bad enough to take him on at that salary, even for half a year.

Trevor Ariza to Washington for Kelly Oubre and Austin Rivers.

Ariza probably had pretty limited value imho. Not sure Oubre works out, but he's 23 with some upside. He gets 13 ppg off the bench and we have rfa control over him instead of a 33-year-old whom we had zero chance of resigning. Seems like a positive transaction to me. Really, I'm just thrilled I...

Trevor Ariza to Washington for Kelly Oubre and Austin Rivers.

Who thought Rivers was the key addition? He was never the key addition. It was Dillon Brooks and then Oubre the Suns wanted. I can't stress enough...Austin Rivers is a shoot-first point guard who can't even hit a free throw with consistency.

Trevor Ariza to Washington for Kelly Oubre and Austin Rivers.

Austin Rivers is the worst. He'd be subtraction by addition.

I officially like the trade now!

Trevor Ariza to Washington for Kelly Oubre and Austin Rivers.

The one thing I'll say in Austin River's favor...my understanding at least, is that he's a good defender.

    Latest on possible Ariza trade

I don't hate the trade...but the process certainly wasn't encouraging. Not sure Oubre works out, but he's on the high end of what I was expecting out of an Ariza trade. My big concern now is the Suns giving Rivers a big role. If that happens, I don't like the trade.

    Latest on possible Ariza trade

I think you're right on Rivers. I just don't have the patience to watch him on this Suns team. :) I like Oubre but don't love him. Jack of all trades, master of none. I prefer Brooks (the Dillon variety) because he seems to have more fire.
  20. ColdPickleNachos

    Latest on possible Ariza trade

Rivers is a shoot-first point guard who can't shoot. He gets 2.0 assists per game in 24 mpg. He shoots 39% from the field. He shoots 54% from the free throw line!!! His career numbers aren't much better (2.4 apg, 42% and 64% from the line). He's my absolute least favorite type of basketball...

Watching the Nuggets game on ESPN...They just brought up the story and made fun of the Suns and only the Suns.

    Latest on possible Ariza trade

Dillon Brooks is pretty good...Been injured this year, but put up 11ppg in his rookie year and has flashed some real potential.
  24. ColdPickleNachos

    Latest on possible Ariza trade

I really like Dillon Brooks. He would have made the deal worth it imho...As long as the Suns promised to not actually play Austin Rivers. This team is already tough enough to watch without Rivers running it. One of my least favorite players in the league.
