Calais Campbell and several ex-Cards in The U scandal

I think this kind of thing happens at every school, but maybe not to this extent. Seems like a very Miami take on it - Hookers, Yachts & VIP rooms. I heard this morning that the lawyers in charge of settling the ponzi scheme money will go after some of these guys and that there could also be...

    Pryor and the supplemental draft

I think Vince Young was much more accurate the Pryor. I've heard most teams would only be interested in him as a WR or TE. He could probably do the wildcat thing but I'm not sure what value that has for the Cards. If we're picking him as a QB I'd spend a 7th on him.

    Grounds for divorce???

No way Tressel would go pro. He's a good teacher and has a good system for college student athletes, but I don't think he's a good x & o guy. I could totally see him going back to some small Ohio school and teaching/coaching for the rest of his life.

    I'm fine with Marc Bulger

I'm good with Bulger too. I just don't like the idea of spending so much draft capital on someone who IMO doesn't have much upside. Kolb probably has the best chance (of the available QB's) to be good and for a long time, but I think there are doubts and a ceiling or else he'd already be...

The Huddle Report Loved the Cards' Draft

Actually, keeping it closer to home, I'd hope for more of a Gerald Hayes type. Our later round pick that took some time to develop but became a long-term strong contributor. More cynically/realistically, he'd be more of the Lance Mitchell, Daryl Blackstock, Sekyo Senika type.

The Huddle Report Loved the Cards' Draft

I'm a little leary with all the value talk with Quan. It was a huge postion of need and I'm very happy to have him, but we didn't select him 5th round, we took a FB instead. To me that says our leadership deemed him a less of a player then our new FB. I agree on the value, but with the tone...

    The Cardinals' 2011 Draft

In regards to a tight end - if these rumours are true about Kolb, you'd thinking having a pass catching tight end (like Celek) would be a good safety blanket for the new QB, helping his transition to the Cards. Same could be said for RB Williams, very similar in style and skillz to the...

A New Angle on Drafting Williams

He doesn't look slow to me either, at least not through the hole. Although he does get caught from behind fairly often. It would be intereseting to see his 10 yard time compared to other RB's. That dude changes direction and gets back up to speed quickly. Unfortunately, with that accelartion...

Graves Not Opposed To Giving Up High 2012 Draft Pick For QB

I know these guys are QB's, they're in short supply and you can't win without one (as we all saw last year) but I'd have a real hard time giving up a 1 for any of the players I'm aware of. I'm not sure I'd give up a 2. I'd probably be willing to give up a 3rd for Orton, Palmer or Kolb...

    Lets Go Spend Some $$$$$$

Here's what I'd like to see: OL - Resign Lutui & Sendlein (If Lutui leaves I'm going off!). I think Faneca is gone. We have Hadnot & Bridges waiting in the wings. I'd say bring in another UFA for the shortterm. My hope is we get a left OT next year and eventually bump Levi to OG. QB - We...

How would you have preferred the Arizona Cardinals 2011 draft to go

I sure hope so. I thought alot of our young guys would make a bigger jump last year and thought most took a step back (rookies excluded). I'm hoping it's becuase Bill Davis was a moron at DC and was using these guys wrong. I've got a bucket full of blind faith in Horton!

    The Cardinals' 2011 Draft

This quote from Sando bugs me. If my board has the 6th rated OLB higher then the highest rated RB, that is exactly what I want. Would you rather have the 6th highest rated OLB or the highest rated Kicker/fullback/whatever? The individual position ranks don't matter, it's how they stack up on...

How would you have preferred the Arizona Cardinals 2011 draft to go

This is why I've (kinda) stopped belly-aching about the picks. They obviously did not value the available linebackers or they would have taken them. I wouldn't pretend to know more then our coaches about the needs of the team or the potential of the prospects. My concern is that it seems...

How would you have preferred the Arizona Cardinals 2011 draft to go

With hindsite I would have gone something like this: 1) CB Peterson 2) TE Kyle Rudolph 3) OG Moffitt 4) SOLB Acho 5) WOLB Chris Carter 6) ILB Quan 6) NT Jerrell Powe 7) WR Dane Sanzenbacher My thinking with this is if we truly are hoping to develop a run game, Rudolph and Moffitt can help with...

    Nfc West Draft Evaluation

I admit to not being immediatley enamored by our draft (quite the opposite). But in looking at the rest of the NFC West, I'd say we had the best in the division. Seattle - seems universally panned. I like the concept they had to upgrade their offensive line but Carpenter seemed early. I...

    Offensive Draftees

I was thinking perhaps our FO had an ulterior motive in drafting Williams and Housler. Primarly, they loved these guys and thought they could help us win. Understood. But maybe they wanted to empahsize adding offensive weapons in this draft to help entice whatever veteren QB we will...

Adam Schefter has Cards on top 5 draft teams

I liked the look of day 2 (we always seem to pick up some good talent here), and obviously Peterson. But I didn't like the 2nd and 3rd rounders. Hopefully I'm wrong about them.

Who do you want in the 6th?

I like NT Ian Williams at this spot. NT Jerrell Powe too but there must be some major red flags for him to have fallen this far. Still, for a 6th rounder, he has good ability.

    Further Incompetence and Ineptitude

Keep talking Section 11 and maybe I'll come down off the ledge. Best positive post I've heard.

Who do you want in the 6th?

WR Dane Sanzenbacher NT or ILB (is the guy from Marhsall still available?)

    Further Incompetence and Ineptitude

I think this is my biggest problem/reason for my disappoinment. It doesn't seem like we are increasing the talent on this team. We all know (and probably expect) that the front office is going to let some of our high priced guys walk (dansby/rolle/boldin last year). But I was hopeful that...

    Possible draft goal?

Or maybe they're just trying to surround Andrew Luck with as many weapons as possible.

    Further Incompetence and Ineptitude

I'm with you Mitch. This sucks. I did believe in Whiz and Co. but more and more it seems like the real WIZard behind the curtain was Kurt Warner. I'd love to be wrong and winning again, would love to eat crow, I just don't think that's gonna happen. I've lost my faith. (sounds dramatic...

Time for some Kool-aid. I like this draft.

I do love the Peterson pick but I'm with Cbus, anybody could have done that. But I think I'm turning to the darkside with Whiz & Co. Williams may be good but that just means Beanie is a 1st round bust. This Housler kid could also be good, and we could use a TE, but I would have felt...

Whiz wrongly claims Williams "Never fumbled"

I guess the sky is falling for me today but this does seem like a big deal to me. Maybe a canary in the coalmine or something. The draft has been this staff's life for the past few months (especially with the lockout). This isn't a UDFA, it's someone we were supposedly guaranteeing we'd take...
