The OFFICIAL "What did Graves say" thread for out-of-staters

Because he insinuated (nearly promised) earlier on that things would be different this year. Now he has all but admitted that they will once again be going into training camp without their #1 draft picks signed. Remember the "judge this team by who we go to camp with" comment? Except for a...

Well, it makes me feel better that he wants to get it done. Thanks for the telling bit of info, Rod.

Also said that people are less open to doing bells and whistles this year compared to last. That's a huge flashing warning sign for me.

Buying single game tickets online vs. scalping

Scalpers are supply and demand in action. If I don't have time/energy to stand in line for an event, I'm glad that there is someone willing to do that. I have a bigger issue with the "legitimate" ticket agencies than I do with scalpers. That being said, I can't figure out how either of them...

    I have a quick question...

Well they don't. It may have nothing to do with the TV money, but they don't. They also don't sign the first round pick until after the second round of beers are popped open on Labor Day, or until after all their grandkids have finished their back to school shopping. The latter two may have...

    I have a quick question...

Besides that, everyone knows that it's the Bidwill's who go on vacation in July (and don't allow any contracts to be signed until they get back).

    From CBS Sportline

I'm not sure what everyone is worried about with Boone, he wasn't deeply involved in this year's draft. The guys who picked Bryant and Jones were. Oh, now I see.

Does Anika make the cut in the Colonial?

Matt Kuchar tried to do the same thing, there's also the UofA alum who did the same thing on the Euro Tour, and maybe even Michelson. It's different now with these guys coming out of college (and even HS) already established. As to the second point, Tiger was a factor from day 1 on the Tour...

Does Anika make the cut in the Colonial?

Yes, but he was an established PGA player the minute he made his first step on the Tour. He followed a generally accepted procedure for getting onto a Tour event, not some cheap stunt. We'll find out in a few days, when she doesn't make the cut, that she didn't deserve to be out there.

Does Anika make the cut in the Colonial?

The issue that the other golfers have is that she circumvented the normal route to get into the tournament. If she really wanted to "deserve the chance" she would have gone to the Monday qualifiers, just like all the others who weren't qualified to play based on their past play.

Bickley: Negative Valley fans have ideal target in Cards

THe Cards are saying that they want some of the advertising revenue. They didn't "fork out" any dough. They want in after they gave up on an offer to split the revenue. The Cards complained for years that the stadium wasn't up to NFL standards, often siting no replay screens. ASU used the...

Bickley: Negative Valley fans have ideal target in Cards

remind me again of how much rent the Cards have paid for the stadium the last few years. And correct me if I'm wrong, but those stadium improvements helped the Cards and the Cards fans also.

And Rod Graves then trades the #1 pick for the #21 pick and a 4th round pick, explaining that "the Cards need depth, not an impact player."

    Mel Kiper's grade

Which is the issue I've had with how they've dealt with their receivers in the off season. They depleted one of the few positions they were strong in so completely that they had to make it a focus of the draft, and weren't able to make the necessary improvements in other areas, especially defense.

Why the Cards will sign Emmitt

Re: Re: Re: Why the Cards will sign Emmitt Why didn't he do that in Dallas then?

If Emmitt's such a prize, why is Houston after Stacy Mack?

It makes sense for me for Houston to sign Emmitt. It would be a great PR move for them, and they are not going anywhere for a while anyway.
