Seven round mock draft from NFL Draft Showcase

Their Mr. Irrelevant, Tyjuan Hagler OLB, isn't irrelevant. He's too fast, too quick, and too strong to be the last pick of the draft. His career shows he will at minimum be an immediate stand out special team player and a project at OLB or safety.

A quote from Dennis Green that points to Derek Johnson at #8.

Per the radio conversation with DG as related by listener "He (DG) will take the best available player no matter what postition RB, CB, LB. You want good players whether you have 2 at that position or not." We have mediocre RBs, a void at CB, but we do have good LBs. This could indicate an LB is...

Cards notebook: Hill says Arizona still among his choices

Attack, not stuff Did DG say he's looking for a run stuffer? DG's philosophy is to attack the run, not stuff it. Luis Castillo fits this philosophy - a three hundred pounder who's quick and can run (compared to other DTs).

Its boring - So here is a NFLE Update.

Croom I don't know how up-to-date the Hamburg NFLE homesite on NFL.com is, but Croom is listed on the roster for Hamburg Sea Devils. From the NFLE news excerpts below, I would say he's probably their featured back. while running backs Zack Abron, Larry Croom and Chris Douglas not only made...

    lattest ESPN scouts mock draft

Bpa The last I knew, DG goes with BPA. Derrick Johnson is certified bluechip and has the trait that DG really admires - SPEED. A marque LB does wonder for a defense. I truly would be amazed if Johnson is still around by the eighth pick with three defensive minded HCs selecting earlier. With...

    Scobey #2?

Just read on Yahoo that a Sept 16 report from Sports Xchange says that Scobey is the #2 RB ahead of Hambrick until Hambrick loses some weight. Is this true? If so, is he still the KR? The Cards official sight still shows Hambrick as #2 as of 2:00 AM Friday the 17th.

    Navarre's Development Coming Along Quickly

Quick release According to Dierdorf, the main credit for the low sack totals was Jim Hart's quick release. He has yet to see any QB with a faster release. From what I remember of the last game, Navarre had more of a wind up like Graham than a quick release.

    Just watched the game...

I agree It was basically a first preseason game between a team with a barrel full of questions vs a team with a cup full of questions. The outcome was predictable. For the Cards, this was a successful game. Many questions were answered. Green now has a list of the players that have no clue...

Question on Smith vs Shipp discussion

From KFFL Thu, 17 Jun 2004 16:12:21 -0700 Darren Urban, of the East Valley Tribune, reports Arizona Cardinals head coach Dennis Green said the main reason he wants RB Emmitt Smith as the team's starting tailback is because Smith is a better fit in the team's three-receiver formation on...

It's not stop the run, but attack the run.

I apologize if this quote has already been mentioned, but a documented explanation of Dennis Green's position on defense pretty well explains the release of our two overweight "run stoppers." Per 1995 publication "Football Coaching Strategies," Part II Defense, Emphasis on Defense, Chapter...

    Denny Green Weak on Defense

Think positive With the offense that Green is developing, the run stuffing ability of the defense might be a lower priority compared to QB pressure ability. In most of our games this year, our opponents will probably have to pass in order to catch up.

    Dallas wins, 34-6??

saw first hour of the cowboy - texan Houston had a mess of players that didn't play. The replacements were over enthused and overran the plays. Parcell was prepared for this and called a great game. Lots of delay runs. That said, the cowboys were in better form than last week. Hambrick...
