Andy Reid does not want time off from the NFL

Coach Reid has a bunch of family ties to AZ through his wife. Her whole family is in AZ. He's from So Cal and has a lot of ties there. I'd love to see him here in an OC capacity. It'd be a good step back in stress from the HC of the Eagles.

    Steven Threet Hangs It Up

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=6152158 Kind of sad. It's the smart decision, based on the report, but it makes you feel bad that he couldn't play his senior year. No QB controversy this year!

    Let's Play Name That QB!

    I view Leinart as a guy who is the equivalent of a second year starter Check out the numbers below: A) 14 games, 61% completion, 2,878 yards, 12 TD, 14 INT B) 15 games, 54% completion, 2,444 yards, 12 TD, 20 INT C) 16 games, 56% completion, 3,194 yards, 13 TD, 16 INT D) 10 games, 53%...

Cards QB's the last 4 preseasons - by the numbers

Your point is a good one that I meant to mention. How on earth did this become such a national story? Do you think it stems from the fact that Kurt Warner was such a likeable guy with a great backstory? Is Leinart THAT unlikeable?

Cards QB's the last 4 preseasons - by the numbers

That'll be a pretty big bandwagon at that point. I think he'll be solid but unspectacular.

Cards QB's the last 4 preseasons - by the numbers

The gloom and doom attitudes towards Leinart based on preseason really makes me scratch my head. Grading a Cards QB based on preseason games typically leaves a fan feeling underwhelmed for a few reasons. In the Whisenhut era, the Cards are a combined 3-11 in the preseason with one of the wins...

Draft: Mike Mayock update on Texas Pro Day

I like McCoy as a prospect. He's been at the top (if not the top) in accuracy for years in college football while running a pro style offense. Accuracy is the most important athletic trait in a QB (see Kurt Warner) and I think he'll be successful at the next level.

Good of the ref to yell don't hold don't hold and not call it

It was very likely the head ref. This happens all the time. He used the microphone before the play to announce the timeout and likely still had it on. I can't think of any scenario where a coach's audio would get picked up on the television feed. Ref's do yell things like, "don't hold"...

Good of the ref to yell don't hold don't hold and not call it

I can't believe people aren't more upset about this. During the games deciding play, you can hear the audible from the ref saying, "Don't hold, don't hold." Clark Haggans is the guy getting held by the right tackle as he is closing in on Vince Young. Without the hold, he would've hit VY...

Adrian Wilson is a liability in coverage

bump Two plays in a row. Not just the Carlson touchdown, but the Housh deep pass was terrible as well. I know he does great things near the line of scrimmage, but he's absoultely killing us. I feel like isn't held accountable.

Adrian Wilson is a liability in coverage

He should never be one on one with good pass catching tight ends. The 1st TD to Greg Olsen was atrocious awareness by AW. The 2nd TD wasn't much better. The PI call was blatent on the 3rd down play. Bill Davis needs to find a way to cover up this glaring weakness, or AW should be off the field...

Lets talk about the playoff picture

Here is statistical evidence that the NFC West is the 2nd BEST division in the conference this year. I'm not saying that I agree with it, but it isn't so cut and dry. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/sagarin/nfl09.htm

    Cards Giants 2009 Game Thread

Adrian Wilson needs to be held accountable for all of the offsides. Also, big time players make that taylor made interception. That was such a blown opportunity.

    Shawne Merriman

I had the same thought. He and AJ Smith aren't getting along. I would pick up the phone if I were Rod. A healthy Shawn Merriman would solve the Cards pass defense issues and make them a top tier defense.

When you are up by 21 and get the ball first in the second half.....

Don't forget that Kurt is changing a lot of these plays at the line. There have been a number of times that he has audibled to a pass. A lot of this is on Kurt.

I am convinced Harrison is the Dirtiest player in the NFL

Harrison = roid rage. The guy went from a career backup two years ago at age 28 to the unblockable defensive player of the year at age 30. It's a curious leap that I have a hard to believing was "natural". Ask Aaron Francisco about his tactics. He's my least favorite player in the NFL.

    My questions, comments, concerns

You're right. The team has much more potential of getting to the QB up the middle with Docket and Campbell. What we are missing is the traditional pressure off the edge. We don't have anyone that can get consistent pressure from that OLB spot. Hopefully that guy is Cody Brown in years to...

    My questions, comments, concerns

It’s interesting that the biggest question of the preseason became – how much does preseason matter? While it is true that there isn’t a lot of scheming or game planning in preseason, I’d argue that many of the Cardinals problems in preseason had nothing to do with scheming or planning. Some of...

Wilson yelling at Berry on sidelines?

AW & Rolle are both liabilities in coverage. In fact, AW, Rolle, Ware, & Francisco are all better suited to play SS than FS. The only true "center fielder" on our roster right now is Rashard Johnson. I fully expect him to play in a lot of the nickle and dime packages by about midseason. Like...

Did Doucet help or hurt himself tonight?

Early Doucet looks like Bryant Johnson 2.0 - right down to the number. He has all the physical tools to go along with the skillet hands.

    Grimm Has Simple Approach

The jump in quality of line coach from Everett Lindsay of a few years ago to Russ Grimm of today may be one of the largest upgrades in position coach history. There's no doubt in my mind that this team will be improved at running the ball. I still worry about protecting the QB. Our tackles...
