    The First Round Picks

One of those picks will likely be packaged with the TE (probably next year) to do a sign and trade.

    Suns Sign Padgett....

Patricia's site is correct. He signed a two-year deal at the vet min, but he opted out a year early. I suspect he either got the lower-level exception or maybe even the remainder of the MLE.

    Matt Jones

Of course, a team with no weaknesses can afford to burn a pick on a project player.

Is Patrick Ramsey a Dennis Green QB?

The Redskins will pay out the nose (read: picks and money) for Brees, and then they'll dump Ramsey on some other team. They have a history of paying top-dollar for "established" players. I don't think they'll risk going into next season with a big questionmark at QB. They're cap situation...

Where will Brees be next year--'nother board's poll

Brees will be franchised tag and traded. I predict he ends up as a Redskin. And Marty loves Rivers. He and GM AJ Smith fell in love with him at the senior bowl.

    Hugh Douglas

Douglas is strictly a right end.

Or when using the Larry Bird exception to re-sign a player, which the Mavericks will be doing if they re-sign Nash.

Wouldn't BYC rules complicate this transaction?

Two sides of the coin: Bert Berry

It may be just a case of having a legitimate pass rushing threat opposite him (Trevor Price). Oguleye certainly benefited from having Jason Taylor (as did Trace Armstrong a few years back when he posted 16+ sacks). Wistrom has played opposite the likes of Kevin Carter and Leonard Little. A...

    AJ Feely

I've seen Feeley play. IMO, he's a better passer than McNabb. Gutty kid who was a chip shot FG miss away from going undefeated. Reminds me of a young Brad Johnson (with a better arm). And you all are fogetting one thing--he's got 3+ years in the complex West Coast Offense, the offense that...

    Mike Williams anyone?

He'll go into the supplimental draft and be picked #1 by the Chargers. Book it. So that McCown Td pass just got a little costlier.

    Darwin Walker

I find it surprising to hear he used to have a bad work ethic. He's a pretty smart dude, I hear--graduated with an engineering degree. In fact, he owns an engineering company-- http://www.progressiveengineeringgroup.com/ Maybe it was the heat that go to him.

Hiring a Gibbs this time around is a huge mistake

There are reports than Gibbs is getting $10m a season plus part ownership when he retires. That's why he's coming back.

Who is the best DT in the draft?

Best motor: Lavalais, LSU Most athletic: Sopoago, Hawaii Best prospect: Harris, Oklahoma

    .....and the plot thickens............

Bugel went to DC for one day watching over game tape of a Redskin game (Spurrier had major problems protecting his QB). He was quickly in and out the back door before anyone knew it. Spurrier was not informed of his arrival. Probably one of the reasons he ended up quitting.

KDUS this AM - Don Debacca sez OAK won't take QB

I think the Redskins may trade up to get one of those two QBs. Snyder loves the sexy pick.

    Colts, Bucs

Players are so athletic nowadays that if that rule wasn't in place, you could never kick a ball over 40 yards. At least, that's the reasoning behind the leaping and leveraging rules.
  22. J

    Colts, Bucs

The rule is, if you're one yard pass the line of scrimmage, you can't jump up and land on anybody. I've seen it called only once before--on Charles Woodson, so Gruden is familiar with that rule.
  23. J

    Colts, Bucs

The 'leaping' call was correct. It's a little known rule, but it's there. Michaels & Madden were confusing that call with 'leveraging'.

    Coleman signed by Eagles...

Coleman was cut mostly for financial reasons. Jax has monster money tied up in the D-line: Douglas, Stroud, Henderson, and -- this was Coleman's death knell -- Brackens. He led their team in sacks during the preseason.
