Man, I'm looking forward to the theme nights now because this has been booooring this week.
To the men's performances last night:
Taylor: Back on top, brought it again after a bit of a shaky start on that song. For the life of me I don't know why he hasn't sang Georgia yet...I've heard his rendition online and its sick. I guess he felt he hasn't needed to pull it out yet, and is saving it for later in the competition if it appears on the songlist. Only fun performance of the evening.
Chris: I love the song, but it isn't a very exciting song. Half of Chris' magic is his commanding presence on the stage, and he didn't really seem very into this song, IMO. He still sang it great, but it was lacking that stage presence of last week's performance.
Elliot: These three are going to be the top 3 over and over again for the guys, I have the feeling. Despite a poor song choice for him, and boring to boot, his voice is fantastic. Had some problems early in the song, but midway through his voice belted it out.
Will: I happen to like this kid's voice a great deal; he needs stage presence though, but the tone and quality of his voice is great. However, he's not picking songs that show it off. He's in danger this week...I don't know how big his fan base is and Chicken Little may claim him.
Ace: Ok, the look is great. The voice is very good. He seems to be the total package, but I personally can't stand the falsetto. Not just his, but in general, although his has some weird screetch to it at times that really hurts. He's got a good voice, but I'd like to see him in his lower register more. He's completely, totally safe this week though.
Gideon: Probably the performance I liked best of his thus far, but that's not saying much. I don't click with this guy at all. ESPECIALLY when he's speaking...he's robotic. This. Is. A. Painting. I. Did. Of. The. World. The. World. Is. A. Record. Because....shut up and power down Gidbot. Dude needs voted off, but he's probably safe this week.
Bucky: I like the guy, he's goofy and has a cool personality. It's very scary there are two of him out there though...yikes. God pulled a funny. However, he's just not a very good singer...he's a one trick pony, and the pony has a broken leg. Bucky should be put down this week, but I don't know if he will be. Probably.
Chicken Little: On a night full of boring songs, standing out because you sang a boring song is a HUGE accomplishment. Enormous. Congrats Kevin, that was the most mindnumbingly boring song I've heard you nasally lisp your way through. If even his "he's so dorkingly cute and sweet" fans think he deserves to stay after that, then you are looking at your eventual American Idol. You need to be voted off, and I hope you keep your feathers numbered for just such an occasion.
