So he batted Corbin in the 7th so he could come on and pitch to one batter in the 8th?

No, so he could pitch until he gave up a hit. When that happened you could see that Corbin had run out of steam. I don't fault him for sending Corbin out in the 8th.

As far as Matt Cain, this locks that he has lost it. But the D-backs still had to respond and they sure did. B2B2B home runs.
