So it looks like in the Heroes universe there are 3 types of people. Not necessarily all on the same side, but definitely 3 types:

1) The people with no power -- SIMONE, CLAIRE'S DAD, ANDO, MOHINDER

2) The people who just recently found their powers -- HIRO, NIKI, PETER PETRELLI, ISAAC, TED, MATT PARKMAN, THE WAITRESS

3) The people that have had and known of their powers for some time -- NATHAN PETRELLI, THE HAITIAN, D.L., SYLAR and SANJOG IYER (the astral projection kid)

Micah and Claire both look like they are in-between 2 and 3, and Eden sounds like she had powers at one time, but not anymore.

This is a great show, but they are in danger of drowning under the weight of its characters. It's going to get boring if there is a new Hero every single week. Hopefully they will stop introducing new characters and expand the ones they already have going strong.

Side note: Anyone think when Hiro returns from the past his English will be flawless? The waitress seemed kind of the outlet for him to learn the language, and pretty quickly as well.

One other thing: I think that Sylar counted on Hiro going back in time. If Sylar really was after people with these powers, why did he kill the girl, and not the one with the biggest power (Hiro)? IMO, it was because for some reason he KNEW that Hiro was going to go back in time to save her--i.e. not let her come into work that day. WHY is the real question now.

So he'd get stuck there & not be able to help the cheerleader, perhaps?

I think my big letdown was because the radio commercials for this week's episode led me to believe that more would have happened than what did.

Great show, great episode but they do need to chill out with all the people. I liked the new waitress character but I am kind of hoping she stays dead just because my brain prefers to be entertained rather than trying to create a spreadsheet to track all these people...

i see Hiro as a facilator to gathering those people with superpowers together. by allowing Hiro to gather them together to save the cheerleader, it should be easier for Sylar to find them and do what he does with them.

good point. I'll be interested to see where things go with Hiro, for sure.

So, when Hiro came back from the future to talk to Peter in the subway car, was the scar he refered to on his head? I think it was but I don't recall clearly. Considering how Sylar attacks his vicims, would you think a head scar was from a close encounter with the man?

I was picturing a 'battle scar' of some sort, but your idea is intriguing....

It seems to me that Sylar is building his strength from his victims.

I tend to think that Sylar is going after the "low hanging fruit". People that are just realizing thier powers would seem to be easier targets.

He went after the little girl but he didn't attack the mind reading cop. It also could just be 'concidence' that Hiro and Ando were at the diner when he killed Charlie. It doesn't mean he is following them or is even aware of them.

In any event the next two weeks it looks like we will learn alot about Sylar. I have heard that after the homecoming episode (save the cheerleader) there is an episode that goes back in time 6 mo. and among other things we see Mohinder's dad come to NY and meet Sylar for the first time.

Then that brings into question why he kills Isaac in a week.

Sylar isn't the one who had the run in with the mind reading cop. It was Claire's dad and the Haitian guy.

This last episode also explains why Claire's dad didn't kill the cop. He's a good guy afterall?

I think Hiro saw a potential future. By acting on what he saw he would be changing it.

They took him in for study( Like they did with Ted apparently and tried to do with Nathan) but I was talking about the run in with the FBI agent and the little girl in the basement of the police station or where ever.
Sylar had the FBI agent holding her own gun to her head until Parkman (the mind reading cop) came in and Sylar escaped.

That has nothing to do with it. In that reality, Sylar kills Isaac. If he is only going after the "nonconsequential" people, why does he end up killing Isaac, who granted isn't a very major character, but his ability make him one of the most important.

and claire's dad is a "good" guy

Finally caught up with the last episode online (missed it on tv). Great stuff. Definately wanted Hiro to go save the waitress (but can he still help save the Cheerleader!).

I'm not so sure Claire's Dad is really a good guy. I think he doesn't want something to happen to Claire (probably), but not sure that makes him 'good' in a Hero sense.

After all, Sylar's apartment is cleared out after Eden goes with the Professor's son to find it. Did she (via Claire's Dad) tip off Sylar? Is Sylar working for or with Claire's Dad?

Also, both the Cop and the Nuclear Guy didn't have (or were not able to access) their powers until after being abducted by the Haitian. And he appears to work for Claire's Dad.

We still don't know the cause of all the powers - evolution is talked about a lot, but is it being "encouraged", or manipulated?

Ahhh, fun speculation. Good stuff!

He was just discovering his power, he could only use it on drugs, it wasn't developed.

I think when Mr. Bennett (the cheerleaders dad) takes them in they enhance the powers somehow.

After Ted "blacked out" he killed his wife with radiation. Before Parkman "blacked out" he would only get fleeting bouts of mind reading but afterwards he could read everone's mind at once in the store. Of course Parkman's run-in with Sylar was before he was taken in by the Hatian and Mr. Bennett.

I just think, as others do, that Sylar seems very selective about his targets and I am looking for reasons why. Maybe Sylar only knows about some of the 'heroes' he may not even realize Hiro or Parkman have abilities.

I thought it was a great episode. (Just got around to watching it.) My DVR cut off at the end when Hiro's buddy is sitting at the table waiting for him. Was there anything else after that?

I want to know why Claire and Mohinder's dad's neighbor weren't supposed to see each other. Was there something I missed in an earlier episode or has this not been explained yet.

I'm not sure how I feel about Claire's dad. I think he might be one of the good guys.

I love these shows that keep you guessing, even though they are frustrating, lol!

If you missed it, they showed Hiro's buddy standing next to a large cork board full of pics of various customers & stuff from the restaurant. There was a picture of Hiro with the waitress, sort of implying that he went back further than he had intended to. The friend did not see the pic yet.

I want to know why Claire and Mohinder's dad's neighbor weren't supposed to see each other. Was there something I missed in an earlier episode or has this not been explained yet. I was wondering the same thing. I can't remember anything....

I love having this message board, too, because so many things from previous episodes I forget about, and it's so cool to have people on here to say, "what about THIS" or "remember THAT"...and I say, "Oh, yeah!!" Loving it!

That's certainly a possibility, but you have to wonder about his powers of deduction if he can identify someone with an abnormal memory (and that person only aware of that power for a couple weeks) and not identify someone that can stop and move around in time. Seems a little off to me.

i think you can watch the episodes on nbc too? i think?

Yup. Go to nbc.com and select Heros. You can watch the current week's episode online for free. Couple of ads, but not bad at all. Good performance and quality.

They post Tuesday mornings and only have the last episode.

I think Sylar is tracking the heroes as well...remember in his apartment he had a very similar map with strings and all that Chandra had...but his had other people on it (Nathan Petrelli was on his, not Chandra's). He only knows about the ones he has researched....and his map was US based so I don't think he's aware of Hiro yet. Which is why Hiro is able to survive and basically round up these guys.

Sylar is like the Anti-Chandra...he's searching for the heroes to kill them, while Chandra was searching for them to prove his theory. The question is still, who the hell is Sylar and what's his story?

NBC/DVR clock is off here. I have learned to set mine for +3 min.

That way I can be sure to see the flashes from next week.

Both good things to know. Thanks!
