I think Sylar is tracking the heroes as well...remember in his apartment he had a very similar map with strings and all that Chandra had...but his had other people on it (Nathan Petrelli was on his, not Chandra's). He only knows about the ones he has researched....and his map was US based so I don't think he's aware of Hiro yet. Which is why Hiro is able to survive and basically round up these guys.

Sylar is like the Anti-Chandra...he's searching for the heroes to kill them, while Chandra was searching for them to prove his theory. The question is still, who the hell is Sylar and what's his story?

That still doesn't explain why he chose to attack the waitress and not Hiro. How can he be aware of this waitress whose only power appears to be a strong memory, but not aware of Hiro, who has probably got the biggest power of them all.

He's only tracking people in the states...that's what the map was of IIRC. I don't think Sylar tracks them with his powers, but the same way Chandra tracked them...they had the same exact style of map with criss cross strings, and Sylar killed Chandra as well. They had to have worked together...

I don't think that Syler knows about Hiro...but he went to that diner because he somehow found out about the waitress...Hiro is a wild card in all this and that is why he will succeed.

How both Chandra and Syler are tracking heroes has yet to be explained, but I don't think it is power-based, as Chandra had no powers (that have been mentioned).

I mean, he says he blacked out after seeing the Haitian, then awoke with all these voices.

But if he's talking about the Haitian in the scene we all saw...he was alraedy hearing the voices, wasn't he?

those were one by one though. he was hearing people only if he looked at them directly

in the grocery store, he was hearing everyone at once in a huge mishmash of voices - his powers were more powerful

The first time (as far as we know) is when he hears the litte girl at the crime scene. But he only hears her. After he blacked out he has headaches and hears everyone.

The Haitian is the guy with the necklace. He wipes out people's memories. He snags them and then Mr. Bennett does some experiments or training and then they go back with 'enhanced powers'. I think if Parkman sees Mr. Bennett he may remember him. Because of the scene where Horn Rimmed Glasses guy (Mr. Bennett) is leaning over him.
It now sounds like they did the same thing to Ted.

Agreed on both fronts.

Some rumour site said that the taglines are only for short story arcs...so the "Save the cheerleader, Save the world" one will go away after November sweeps are done...and some new tagline will start for the next set of episodes.

Thank goodness - terrible tagline. Great show.

Holy Crap!!! I figured out why Peter wouldn't die WAY before it happened (yay, me! I'm sure I'm not the only one...but I feel cool for figuring it out). I still don't get how saving the cheerleader saves the world--especially since I think Ted is why NY blows up (anyone else think he looks like one of the GEICO cavemen?)

That ep was overhyped, but not by a lot. Jessica shooting at DL, Hiro glimpse from the past, Sylar captured, Claire telling pops about regen, Peter arrested...all that took place in the last 10 minutes.

That chick that works with Claire's dad...power of suggestion chick...she's a strong weapon to have around. Jedi Mind Trick to the nth power.

Pretty wicked episode.
