George Takei is Hiro's Dad in Heroes

TV Guide reports that NBC has made a perfect casting choice for the role of Hiro's dad in "Heroes":
As exclusively reported by TV Guide magazine, none other than George Takei has been cast as the father of Heroes' Star Trek-obsessed Hiro. "It was one of those lightning-bolt ideas," series creator Tim Kring tells TV Guide. Adds Masi Oka, who plays Hiro, "This is absolutely brilliant! I just hope I get to say, 'Dad! Sulu is my hero, not you!'"

I know...she was on a Law & Order episode before that too.
She's a really good actress for 17.

Agreed. I was just still stuck on the silly tagline and all the advertising hype around it.
Definately great to see the powers in action - like Jedi Mind Trick on Sylar and Peter's mimic of Claire's ability.
Needs to be on every night!
Whadda think - does DL get shot or somehow avoid the bullets?
Also, does Hiro manage to save the waitress?
First one, I think the bullets go through him...almost like he can go through solid objects and solid objects can pass through him.
Second one, I don't think so on first try, but that he goes back again once or twice to get it right..and eventually he does.

Before that she was Lizzie, the daughter of Phillip and Beth, making her the grandaughter of Alan Spaulding (on Guiding Light). Not that I watch soaps or anything.

few things i didn't see mentioned...
- micah fixing the phone with his hand: what's his power gonna end up being?
- didn't claire's dad, in one of the first episodes (it might have been the second one, actually), talk to sylar on the phone and sylar said "you made me this way [evil]" or something like that? wouldn't that suggest that a) claire's dad is not good and b) he might know something or have some control over sylar that would make the capture possible?

I'm guessing here, but the guy they caught isn't Sylar but an agent of Sylar.

the thing is that he needs to be focused when passing through objects. if he doesnt see it coming, then how can he allow the bullet to pass through him?
what i could see happening though is him dislodging the bullet after being shot.....but still being injured.
i just thought of something a little crazy. is Micah's ability limited to fixing mechanical things such as the phone, or do his abilities extend into organic things such as people? Dad gets shot, pulls out bullet, still in trouble, Micah steps in and heals him.
Oooh, I like. I like it a lot.

Somehow I highly doubt the bullet would still be in him after being shot with a high powered rifle like that. Of course I'm no expert in the subject and perhaps someone else can correct me

I like the idea of Micah being able to fix not only machines, but people as well. A healer who can heal people and electronic devices.
I'm good with that theory.
Didn't realize that Claire was the girl in Remember the Titans. She has really grown up.
Question. Do you think DL knows about Nikki's power? Or do you think he is just learning about it when Micah mentions it? I thought he looked a little surprised, but was he surprised at her having the power or the fact that Micah knew about it?
I want to know more about Mohinder's neighbor, the chick with the Jedi mind tricks. What is her deal?
I wanted more about Hiro and the waitress

I don't think DL knew about Nikki's "power". I use quotes because her alter ego apparently was a real person (from the previews)....dunno. Will have to see what's up tonight!
What really sucks is that I'm sure towards Christmas we're going to at least go one week with a repeat...which is going to mean 2 weeks waiting for a new episode. I'm already dreading it. Yeah, I'm a loser.
