I think the point they were trying to make was that Sylar DID have Claire's power in Future Hiro's past. That's why he told Peter to "Save the cheerleader, save the world". He was trying to alter the past. The problem with all of Future Hiro's timelines is that he thinks Sylar exploded still.
You're welcome, and DAMN! I love this show!!

There's no way that Future Syler had Claire's power because he went out of his way to kill her for her power in the last episode. He either has some other type of regen power that's not as strong as Claire's (he did fall off the same building that peter did and was able to walk away), Linderman brings him back to life, or Hiro's stab just wasn't enough to kill him.

As for who I'm related to, they can call me out if they want to be known. :) I know they read this thread.

Two theories, one of which is a little extreme:

1.) that chick that can alter people's perception makes Hiro think he's killing Sylar.....or the shape shifter "becomes" sylar and that's who Hiro jigs with his sword.

2.) that sketch is NOT sylar, but in fact Nathan.

Except...
"Future" Hiro gets all excited looking when he learns that they DID save the cheerleader. BUT, I thought they kinda covered all of that with Charlie. Hiro pretty much learned then that he can't change things. He said as much, at least.

Well, they only thing that we know is that Hiro might not be able to change things directly himself. Meaning that he can't directly intervene with past events if he travels back. Future Hiro is more powerful so if he could he would just go back and change things.

That would make sense and explain why he enlisted the previous version of himself to change events. So he might not be able to directly intervene but he can get others who belong in that timeline to change things.

OK my 2 cents. Once Hiro actually lives thru an experience in his own life, he cannot change the final outcome, only the details around the outcome (see the memory girl episode, he changed HOW she died not that she died).

I think that is why Future Hiro is working thru Past Hiro, since future Hiro can change what he has lived thru, but Past Hiro hasn't lived thru it all yet and thus can chang those events happening in HIS future.

As to why Hiro wouldn't go back to FAR Past Hiro about going to kill Sylar before Sylar became too powerful, is simply he knew that that Hiro wouldn't be ready to go do anything until his power developed and had a little time to get use to the idea of being a "hero".

I'm still not quite awake yet (I know, it's after 9:00...I'm a SLOW rise-er), so that made me smile! I hadn't realized yet! :D

Okay, it's become a bit of a tradition in my house to pause Heroes at the beginning so we can fast forward through all the commercials....

Almost time to begin!!! :D

I can honestly say, especially after this episode, that I truly have absolutely no idea what is going to happen in the finale... who will die... who is good... who is bad... who stops who....

It's one big confusion mess in my head

Yep I have no idea what is going to happen.

Mohinder really needs to become interesting soon.

Same here. I like how they said "what do you think happens in the next two episodes? Send us your theories."

Yeah, all my theories are out the window already. I really hope Peter doesn't blow up though.

Was that the explosion that flashes in Sylar's eyes when he says "boom" in the previews? Creepy...

This show is just so intense at times...I catch my breath in scenes...and I really don't have a clue what's going to happen in these next two eps...way to keep me guessing Heroes!

The only show on TV that has that same "WTF is going on but I like it" feeling that Lost had, forgot, and has now recovered.

We have to wait until MONDAY for the next episode?????

Well, even if he does we know he'd live through it since future Peter did, and says he was the one who blew up NY.

I still want to know how he gets his scar. And hooks up with Nikkica.

My prediction...they don't stop the explosion...it happens, and the rest of the series is trying to avoid that future we just saw last episode with some time jumping and Hiro trying desperately to change the past.

That's what I think...the explosion happens.

The explosion will still happen, but I think it really will be Sylar this time. He seems to have accepted the fact that he blows up, so I wouldn't put it past him to actually go out and do it.

It was pretty cool to get a little more Sylar. Like when he was talking to Mohinder, he was telling him that he has no reason to kill lots of people because he has nothing to gain from it. So while he's a villian, he's not quite to super-villian status yet with his line of thinking. Obviously though, by the end of the episode, his mindset is likely changed.

All in all, I think this was the worst episode since it came back from it's last month-long break. It was still good, but the other two were just far more entertaining in my eyes.

I was thinking the same thing, but that would kill Sylar off...are we going to have a new bad guy next season, or does he kill Claire first to get her re-gen powers? One of those two things has to happen...or Linderman could heal him, I suppose.

I would think that if sylar had ted's power, then the blast wouldnt hurt him (sylar).

it would be the same way that ted isnt affected by his own radiation or heat output.

Good point.

Oh...I am guessing everyone knows that the "new tracking system" is the little girl. Mohinder was making a huge mistake to save her.
