Jalen Hurts was very Kyler Murray tonight and that team flat dominated the Packers. Gannon talking about the talent difference with the teams in the playoffs is spot on

There is no doubt JG is following the Eagles blueprint.

He might even believe that K1 is the better QB and just needs a better team around him. Wouldn’t be surprising.

It would be surprising because Hurts is a light years ahead as a scorer over Murray

Murray is basically Temu Hurts right now. It's sort of what you ordered but not exactly

Where I think Hurts is ahead of Murray, and it was the same at college level too:

You cannot rattle Hurts.

No matter what just happened, his expression and body language always says "That is exactly what I planned/thought would happen".

Throws and 80 Yard touchdown? Same expression. Throws a pick six? Same expression.

Jalen is so grown up. So icy cool. Murray still developing that composure and poise.

I didn't looks this up before my above statement so here are the actual stats.

Hurts Rushing TDs: 55 Murray's career rushing TDs is 31.

Murray Passing TDs / INTs for his career 115 / 57 Hurts 85 / 49

Fumbles Murray 50 Hurts 45

Combined TDs

Hurts 140 Murray 146. Fumbles / INTs Hurts 94 Murray 107

Murray has started 18 more games than Hurts so basically a full season. Per game ratio is

Hurts 2.12 TDs a game with 1.4 turnovers potentially a game. TD to Turnover 66%

Murray 1.74 TDs a game with 1.12 tunovers a game. TD to turnover 64%

Verdict: Hurts is measurably better at scoring than Murray but they are very close on TD to Turnover %. Temu comment confirmed.

I want Kyler on another team but how cruel would it be if Kyler showed up at the end of the season & even won a playoff game or two with his next team while we’re still….the Cardinals? lmao man

Is this a different multiverse where he’s tall enough to hang in the pocket and deliver strikes when the pressure is on? And if so, how can I get there so I can redo some of the biggest mistakes of my life too?

You’re drinking drano. Did you watch tonight’s game? The difference between winning and losing playoff games is having a QB who can make plays from the pocket even when the heat is on or being tough enough to run your body thru a wood-chipper and keep chipping away.

Kyler will never be either of those players because of his size. That can’t be changed even if the uniform does.

The Steelers made the playoffs with two 20ish QBs. Murray is a marked upgrade over what they had.

Also, I didn't watch the game and drank Drano. You were assholely spot on with that preface.

This list is actually pretty decent. Murray ends up at 16, which is right in line with my thoughts so maybe it is confirmation bias.

Of note though Herbert is 14. I know everyone likes to punch on 602 but his statement isn't as outrageous as you all think.
Terrible list but the Kyler rating is pretty fair.

It’s quite entertaining reading all these comments. The sad reality is that BOTH of these guys were drafted by poor franchises that up until now have had poor coaching, not enough weapons on either side of the ball, and poor front offices. Personally, I think that regardless of what happened in Houston that BOTH teams are ascending & as the talent around them improves, so will they.

Not likely with K1 at the helm. No history there.

Comparing their career records completely ignores what they inherited though.

Kyler came in as a rookie on a team that was 3-13 and scored only 225 points the prior year allowed 425. The points for was one of the lowest totals in recent NFL history. That was one of the worst Cards teams ever.

The next year we went 5-10-1 and scored 361 points, that's more than 8 more PPG. The difference Kyler made in that first season was huge and he inherited a very weak offensive group Fitz way past prime, Kirk on the way up, Pharoah Cooper and Damiere Byrd regularly playing! Our best RB was picked up midseason in Drake.

We had a point margin of -200 the year before we picked Kyler, theirs was -8 the year before they picked Herbert. He inherited a MUCH better team than Kyler did.

Neither one of them has won a playoff game yet, Kyler had his Rams meltdown, Herbert had his meltdown yesterday. I would argue Herbert was way worse. First off they should have been up 14 plus points the way the game started but he couldn't convert and they had to settle for FGs.

But he threw 4 picks, one a picksix another near picksix guy got tackled around the 10 yard line. He nearly had a 5th pick on the ball Will Anderson nailed him on.

That said my lasting impressions of that game are how good Will Anderson is, and how much better Ladd McConkey is than Marv right now
