I have yet to see any draftsite say Kyler Murray is the top QB in this draft.Not one.Most have Murray as the 2nd Qb taken.Bucky Brooks (NFL.com. and former NFL player) has Murray 4th QB taken (very late 1st round.Another site run by a former NFL scout has Murray as the 2nd Qb ranked.
Every site has Dwayne Haskins(OHIO ST) ranked as top QB.Daniel Jones(DUKE)and Drew Lock (Missouri)and Murray (OK) top 4 QBs

I wonder how many rank him thus based on the possibility of baseball.

No, but I'm also not contrarian for the sake of being contrarian. And I trust that there's a lot of people out there who know football better than I do. If the tale of the tape for 95% of the people who are paid to do this say that Bosa is the best player, and have for months on end, I'm going to be pretty convinced, seeing as I've watched the guy play myself too.

The kid obviously has to play the baseball/football thing close to the vest in his best interest. It’s not an easy thing to do. Even professionals get uncomfortable in those scenarios. And he’s a kid. Imo ridiculous to call him an ass for that. Mayfield was an ass. This kid, at least based on that interview, is not an ass.

Murray handled that about as poorly as possible. For starters, he should be better prepared for the baseball v. football questions because he’s going to be peppered with them until the draft. Second, that interview doesn’t give me confidence that he’s fully committed to football. The threat to go play baseball is real and should worry teams. IThe Cardinals should never have considered him in the first round , but definitely not now.

I agree with this. It was definitely awkward. And the baseball thing scares me more than anything else.

I’d prefer to let the actual football people (scouts and GMs) call the shots rather than the kipers and myriads of “expert” bloggers. A good football guy should crush the online pundits. Granted I don’t believe Keim is one of those, but it also means I’m not taking the bait of the online masses.

I never got that Mayfield was ever evasive in interviews, cocky maybe but that isn’t a poor trait for a QB. Last year the only QB prospect I saw who seemed to have a lack of preparation for interviews was Jackson, but even then he didn’t come back as evasive just ill prepared.

The video was better than the transcript.

Murray is a kid. He came off as a kid.

I’m not fond of pass-rushers who just mainly rely on speed without actual counter moves & good hand usage. Otherwise, you just get Vic Beasley.

Allen is significantly more physical than Beasley was. He has a swim move that he used on a few of his sacks.

Is he really? I mean, I’ve seen him struggle to disengage from TEs more times than you would expect.

That’s not groupthink, that’s Ithink. I was bullish on him the whole season.

I would draft guys like Brian Burns & Jachai Polite over him & wouldnt hesitate.

Burns is growing on me, because of how I viewed Von Miller years ago. Didnt give Miller a chance because he was smallish. Burns reminds me of Miller.

Personally, I love this kid. I think he’s bright, has a super high QB IQ, and is extremely talented. Even at 5’10”, I believe this kid will be a star in the NFL. His parents have done a great job raising him, and have prepared him every step of the way.

If K2 thinks that KM is the player that will run his O the best, then go ahead & take him at 1. All this being said, I’m also fine with staying put with Rosen & drafting Bosa/Allen with the 1st pick. No one knows better than K2 whether Rosen or Murray is the better fit. We’ll know soon enough. Whether we draft him or not, I’m looking forward to watching Murray play in the NFL.
