Does he?? What was his reward for that behavior at Nebraska and Oregon? A multi-million dollar NFL career, why becuase of his mean streak and nasty attitude. He learned to talk the talk and say the right things in an interview, but his reality is that actions speak much louder when it comes to the NFL. Who has the better chance on being on an NFL roster next season, him or Martin? Who is more respected by players in the NFL?? It's a shame that the answer to those questions is most likely, Richie Incognito.

Sure but that's entirely different than not knowing bullying isn't accepted. It's against federal laws.

Martin can and probably should sue the pants off Incognito, the Dolphins and the NFL over this. Their antitrust likely doesn't exempt them from Federal bullying laws in the workplace.

He didn't get handed the contract because he was a bully he got handed a contract because he was a reasonable OL who is a dirty player that everyone hates unless he's on your roster. There's a difference between being dirty, which mainly impacts your opponent, and being a bully, which mainly impacts your own team.

he didn't do this because he didn't actually know it was wrong, he did it because that's who he is as a human being.

I agree that it's sad that the NFL seems to value that sort of playing style, but I don't think the NFL values the off field bullying tactics.

But I guess we'll find out, if and when the Dolphins let him go we'll see what sort of interest there is in him.

Wow this is apparently what his dad wrote on a Dolphins fan website.

-------------------------------------------
Richard Sr., using his birth date and usual user name, is presumed to have defended Incognito by writing inflammatory posts on a Dolphins fan website Monday after the team announced Incognito’s suspension. He said Incognito was being treated unfairly and that ”black people say the N-word in rap music.“ He implied that Martin was unstable and ”does not belong in an NFL locker room,“ and asked readers to ”pray (general manager Jeff) Ireland and (coach Joe) Philbin die of AIDS.“

--------------------------------------------------

This is sort of eerily similar to the whole Reeves Nelson saga at UCLA and after he left. For those that aren't aware, Nelson's father committed suicide about 2 weeks ago although nobody is quite sure if it was related to how his sons situation turned out.

this is getting weirder and weirder...but maybe a little more clear.

truth is, one of my BEST friends and I usually end our texts with "i'll kill u". it's a joke between us, and one of our friends saw it on a group texts, they thought we were pissed at each other.

and the mother jokes...well, my friends and I have made our fair share of mother blasts also.

starting to not know what to think about this situation the more I hear of it. I mean, my friends and I have pretty messed up senses of humor, but usually bash each other in jest for being jewish, mexican or camel-jockeys. funny thing is if anyone outside our group every said the things we say to each other, I'd have a huge problem with them. kind of a "hey...they can't do that to our pledges. Only WE can do that to our pledges" type thing.

Agreed, with the best friends stuff I'm now half expecting Martin to recant the whole thing in a day or so.

Doesn't change my opinion of Incognito, but in this case it's really odd, so much conflicting information.

I'm with you.

So much of this speaks to the insider too-and-fro I witnessed in the military.

that wasn't Richie who called Martin unstable and wished AIDS on people. That was his father apparently.

Bart Hubbuch of the New York Post has comments from both wide receiver Brian Hartline and tackle Tyson Clabo that offer a different viewpoint as to what’s been going on in the team’s locker room. Hartline said that Martin passed around the infamous voicemail that Incognito left on his phone while laughing about it. Hubbuch described Hartline, who also said that the truth would out, as “outraged.”
Hartline also said that it’s ridiculous to call Incognito racist, which Clabo agreed with while also training his sights on Martin. Clabo said that Martin “needs to stand up and be a man. I don’t know why he’s doing this.”

Tanny says they were bros, Martin funked his whole career up by handling it this way IMO, and Incognito is mostly likely done in the NFL, the only way I see that cat playing again is for a black head coach, the white man can no longer hire him after that N-bomb hit ESPN. This just keeps getting cray by the minute, I bet there are 3 sides, maybe 4 to this story, so we may never know.

truth is, we know really have no clue what's going on. are the Dolphins in major damage control? do any of these players have any stake in this (as in, were they part of the alledged treatment)...are they just sticking up for the guy who still part of the team?

if nothing else, this story is pretty fascinating to follow.

If Tanny (who still has a whole lot of career and future money to worry about) goes on public record saying Martin and Incog got along just fine then I'm gonna believe it, dude has no reason to falsify anything at this point, especially sticking up for someone that the world has already decided (overnight) to be the biggest racist hazingest bullying money hungry POS in the NFL.

I am no Incog fan, but I don't see any entire locker room condoning the behavior that was portrayed.

Incog is a jerkwad that brings out the worst in people on the other team, he does despicable things on the field to accomplish that.

Martin bounced, who knows why, maybe because of Incog. Might be the 15 G's...what's the time line with that part of the story? When was the Vegas trip? If it was old news than why didn't Martin trip out when it happened?

What exactly was the breaking point for Martin? Was it the voicemails he shared and joked about with his friends? Did he "feel" he had to joke about them?

Should we start a Jonathon Martin Foundation? Is every black friend that Incognito ever had a fool?

Why isn't Kerry Rhodes playing in the NFL ?

If Richie is such a great well liked non-racist guy why the hell did the dolphins suspend him? I am willing to bet that this crap was probably done and said in jest with Martin laughing it off, but the language and harassment continued and escalated until Martin felt he didn't think incognito was joking anymore.

Because they are using him as a scapegoat..if ''bullying''martin was just his initiative ,this would never been tolerate.
Racist in the locker room?seems crazy considering just 20% of the players is white

I think the part that fascinates me so much is the overall concerted effort by the dolphins to make us believe that richie was a good guy and the lack of anyone of them to admit that what we heard was unacceptable. I don't know any friend of mine that would have said any of that crap to me and still consider them a friend.

Dolphins suspended dude.

Dude dropped the N-bomb to (who it sounds like) someone he thought he was cool with. Nobody in their right mind would leave a voicemail with such a racist statement.

Nobody drops the N-bomb in my circle, but that's just how hippies roll.

I'm starting to think there's more going on. Is Incog a douche for dropping the N-bomb like that?

Yes

Does that make him a racist?

Maybe

I'm a hienze 57 myself, my pops is a half breed, I have blond hair so I hear the N-bomb dropped all the time when them whiteys think they are "safe".

Then the fear of dawg strikes them, or they start stuttering, or they tell me about the best friend they had in college. :D It's pretty funny to watch someone talk sideways. :D

Bingo. That situation seems to be pretty clear now, doesn't it?

The funny thing is that's the one thing Incog never called Martin, just about the only thing too.

So either Incog feels there's a line you can't cross....meaning N-bombs are all good but gay jokes are a no-no or....

Incog would never make that kind of joke towards a friend's sexual orientation.

All I know is why isn't Kerry Rhodes playing in the NFL? :D

I don't understand your point. Of course they know him better than I do. He still isn't a saint and I find it disturbing to have a team coming about and defending him for being a bigot.

Maybe because they don't see him as a bigot and the know the context in which he used the "n" word. I think the fact no one wants to talk about is that there are more guys like Incognito on the Dolphins, and probably in the NFL, then there are like Martin.
