Wouldn't surprise me. :(

+1.

Hope we sign a FA WR, or IMHO our WR core just hit rock bottom from 3 years ago.

Roberts, Doucet, and Williams have potential, but they are no where near ready to be a #2.

Doucett is more than ready the question is can he stay healthy. PROBABLY NOT!

so, from the Super Bowl team... what was a relatively young offense centered around a veteran QB has... 3 starters out of 11 remaining on it? and one of them is Levi Brown? great.

and on defense, we have... what after DRC is gone... 2 starters? Sweet.

When the story goes from "could" to "has', I'll have an opinion.

can't wait to see what over the hill has-been, unproven draft pick or undrafted FA rookie replaces him.

Interesting that he would except a job that will most certianly be a #3 WR spot. Thought he was looking for a place to start. Unless KC doesnt have high hopes for their 1st round pick.

Assuming it's a done deal what do we think, that the Cards opted to let him walk or that they can only do one thing at a time and the negotiations to get Kolb are stopping them from doing anything else?

rookie WRs (especially those not taken super-early) seem to take at least a year if not more to actually start making an impact on a team.

if this is the case, there's no point believing this team can ever succeed. Kolb shouldn't put the breaks on EVERYTHING else this team needs to accomplish.

I was half joking I think but it does seem historically we aren't particularly good at multi tasking.

Whiz is building this team from the belly up. He needed to get rid of all that dead weight and bring in his type of guys. You know, the lunch pail type. Too bad the belly has been sliced open by other teams and the guts are falling out of it.

Last time I saw the lunch pail crew they were mainly over 40 guys with beer guts but they come to work every day and never take time off.

Oh, don't worry...Urban is already speculating on the blog that Roberts is ready to step in as a #2!

Probably right, wouldnt surprise to see this as a 1 year deal to try FA again next year. Might actually be the smart move to make for himself.

I think the Cards saw the writing on the wall... I named my fantasy teams after his namesake...

Sucks to see him go, hopefully Roberts/Doucett will step up..

More money to spend on other positions ala OL, CB, ILB...

It really is pathetic.

This front office sucks, I really only put a small part of it on Whisenhunt.
