5-11 seems pretty familiar.
Ha, zing! While I appreciate AZ's unfounded optimism, all of this feels very familiar. Prove me wrong Graves, prove me wrong!
5-11 seems pretty familiar.
your right... pocketing 30 million dollars and giving us one of the most unwatchable seasons in nfl history gave us nothing to complain about.
then, letting another key member of the Super Bowl fly the coop is nothing to complain about either.
kind of a mighty large assumption considering this team almost never replaces it's key FA with another FA... unless he's washed up and completely over the hill... or he's an undrafted FA... or he's a FA who most believe is just camp fodder (Lennon).
Seriously, the only time i remember this team actually replacing a key loss was Rhodes. That worked out well... you'd think they learn from it, but I have zero confidence that will be the case.
If there are any PHD candidates in the world studying irrational, unwarranted, completely over the top optimistic thinking they need to visit this board.
Only here could someone complaining about one of the worst franchises in NFL history be labled a party pooper or downer or darksider.
I love the Cardinals but come on man, they act in the most bizzare, incompetent fashion IMO of any franchise ever, worse than the Cubs, worse than even the Clippers and their winning percentage, the ultimate measure of anything is horrid.
Yeah but that was last year with Rhodes Cheese.
And the Cards have a plan this year too, and so far are carrying it out.
Listen obviously I am not happy about 5-11. And I believe the team made a HUGE mistake in handling the QB siituation and retaining Davis as DC. It seem sboth of those issues are on their way to being rectifyed? So why wouldnt 2011 be more like 08, and 09 then 2010 if you fix those two spots?
Couldnt have been ALL Warner, could it? I guess we'll see this year and I will be firmly on the dark side if we A) dont get Kolb at thsi point and are stuck with Bulger or worse or B) we have another 6 win or less season.
I just see the team HAs changed its stripes. When before do they reup guys part of the "core" like Dockett, Wilson, and Fitz like they have.
SOC would have let Wiz go into 2010 as a lame duck, but they extedned him.
SOC dont make that proactive trade for Rhodes.
My point is things ARE different then the Mac and McGinnis years. Once they get rid of Graves then EVERYTHING will be different.
Am I an optmist because of that? Or maybe Im just not basing EVERYTHING off of the poor year in 2010?
If Cards do bring in Kolb, Fitz extends before game one of season. Thats right I am calling it. See if I can call my shot when everyone was doom and gloom three years in a row, Wilson, Dockett, now Fitz?
ok.. looks like it is official, Breaston is gone...maybe not to KC but just not coming back to AZ

Another horrible move by the Cardinals.
Our WR position will be like last years, and possibly this year's QB situation.
It will go from Roberts, to Doucet, to Williams, to "some guy", and get worse, and worse, and worse.
2 years ago this organization had the best WR core in the league, and now it is one of the worst.
Unreal. Just completely un-real.
I now know what Graves, and company are working on. They are working on screwing up everything they can, because you HAVE to be putting in an effort to be this inept.
So the depth chart looks like this...
1-Fitzgerald
2-???
3-Andre Roberts
4-???
5-Stephen Williams/Early Doucet/Max Komar
We can still find a number 2 and 4 WR through FA. Pretty deep class for complimentry WR's. Not real worried about this. Our offensive line on the other hand...
but last year was also the year we replaced Dansby with Lennon, a rookie and depended on Hayes who anyone who's ever had a back injury (or common sense) KNEW he shouldn't be counted on.
they have a plan for QB and we have no idea what the plan is anywhere else or if there even is one.
in 2008 we let Davis go and had to reach for an OL to get into his spot, passing on the best running back in the game. In 2009, we had good secondary depth and then for no reason whatsoever, cut Rod Hood, meaning Mike Adams had to play a lot and suck while doing it. This team was built on DG players and pretty much NONE of those guys are left and this FO has shown next to ZERO ability to fill those holes.
they locked up Boldin in 2004, they extended Warner back in the day before he became a FA, they extended horrible players like Ray Thompson and LJ Shelton...
sorry, you don't get kudos for the most obvious move to make of all time. they never were in a position to extend a previous coach because they all had ZERO success. that's not a sign of anything to me other than we're not the most completely ******** team of all time.
this is really the ONLY example of this team being shrewdly pro-active over the course of the last few years IMO. I mean... this team forced Warner, the guy who took us to the Super Bowl to field offers from a division rival before they finally ponied up for him. THAT is the VERY DEFINITION OF SOC.
this will never happen and until it does, it looks like SOC to me.
again... making Warner go to a rival, losing Big and being forced to draft Levi, losing Dansby replacing him with Lennon, etc. etc. None of this is happening in a vaccum. we're watching the systematic devolution of our only successful team which was LOADED with young playmakers.
Fine bud. You are entitled to not be optmistic and think this is the Clippers and Cubs of the NFL.
Personally I think last year was an anamoly and one we wont see again as long as Wiz is HC. I am excited to see how we do with a young QB I like, and I continue to believe in Wiz.
Obviously I am in the minority. Cardinals are my passion and I am happy with the perception of the team nationally and the overall success of the past 4 years, even throwing in the clunker that was 2010.
I am not blind. I think the Suns are in a spiral and will tell you as much.
But not the Cards. I have too much faith in Wiz for that.
Any corps with Fitz on it can't be considered one ot the wost in football. Not even possible. Sorry. But just checking the dramatics around here.

Yeah right, like he knows anything about the situation...
Wtf thats not even that much money. Graves needs to get off his ass and pay him!!
lol do you expect the Cards to find a complimentary WR of equal caliber if they won't even sign Breaston???
