I don't have any problem with how Bledsoe is acting, other than that it reveals him to have an unrealistic view of his own value. But I don't regard it as unprofessional or even immature.

agreed.

If you believe in your agent (which it's pretty apparent Bledsoe does), the LAST thing you're going to do is talk one on one with the people he's negotiating with. the reality is that any entertainment business isn't about making friends... it's about business. I come at this from a different perspective. My agent needs to go out there and kill for me. That's his job and I trust him to do so. On my old show, I was very close with the executive producers, but when it was time to renegotiate my contract, my agent told me to keep my mouth shut. you have to play hardball to get what you think you deserve and let the negotiators negotiate. Bledose might have his head up his ass about what's he's actually worth, but I don't see anything he's done as disrespectful.

But don't players meet with teams during free agency? EVERY other player has met with multiple teams (except LeBron, coincidence?).

Cheese, have I missed something? What show?

These recent posts have been looking at it from Bledsoe's point of view.

What about the Suns points of view?

Until it is resolved with Bledsoe on another team, there is a threat to our team chemistry no matter what.

Respect or lack of respect for Bledsoe and his agent are not the priority of Suns fans. Getting ready for a successful season (Horny's second) on a positive note is what matters to us.

I don't see any reason to think that the Suns players will react negatively to what's transpired. They all want to get paid too and they understand it's a business. And our chemistry might suffer with or without Bledsoe.

Yup. It seems, after all this, that for Bledsoe, it is all about getting paid, plain and simple. It is not about leaving the Suns. His expectations are throught the roof, that is true. That is what his agent has fed him. But in the end, if it is about the money, you take the best offer you get.

If I had to bet, he will take the best offer he can get from the Suns. He will not sign a QO and he will not be traded.

I should have said that this is interfering with the Suns coaching staff ability to use the pre-season to be ready for opening day.

I guess it would be wise to plan without Bledsoe, start without Bledsoe and decide as the season progresses if he is going to be part of the rotation, part of the starting lineup or neither.

By chemistry, I was referring to the players who would be prepared for a role, then stripped of it. Sure, that could happen if there were an injury, but they would know right from the start that their role would be temporary in that case.

Sarver invited Bledsoe to meet and he chose not to. In my opinion he should not be rewarded for that.

This will most likely be resolved by Oct 1.
James post yesterday indicates that they realize time is running out and there isn't another team that is likely to step up.

I used to write for Necessary Roughness on USA and now I'm writing for the new NCIS: New Orleans spinoff starting this fall.

Head in sand.

Do you really think that players that have been in Phoenix busting their asses off don't have any feeling about this? Business or no, they're not robots. I'll be happy when his ass is out of here.

Give me the Morris boys any day of the week. They're at summer league cheering on their teammates. To think they're not aware of Bledsoe's attitude is foolish.

Chemistry isn't built with the likes of Bledsoe. Get his *ucking a** out of here. Forever, except when he visits to have Thomas school him.

Here's how tight Goran Dragic is with Bledsoe. He follows him on twitter. Wow! It was always obvious that the chemistry last year between the two was a joke. That should be all you really need to know.

Uuuuggghhh... I feel like this thread is about to go off the rails.

I'm not worried about chemistry. The team (and Bledsoe and Dragic) had phenomenal chemistry last year, anyone who thinks otherwise has an axe to grind.

Agreed. Dragic and other teammates spoke glowingly about Bledsoe. Goran commented several times about how much he loved playing alongside Bledsoe and how well they all got along. If I were better at mind reading I wouldn't have to rely on information like this to form my opinions.

I couldn't agree more. We've all worked with the "primadona" and business or not, they are annoying as hell, and it affects the morale of everyone else. Anyone who thinks the players don't care about what's happening with Bledsoe is out of touch with reality.

I hope Bledsoe goes bye bye. I don't want the little self-entitled princess on this team.

I'd say anyone who thinks entertainers of any kind hold grudges against likewise people trying to get theirs literally has no clue what they're talking about.

The Suns are already a step behind other playoff hopeful teams for next season.

Distractions such as this dragging on until October don't help. For every bit of effort his teammates (is he a teammate?) will be putting in between now and then, I am sure they resent this issue hanging over them. So do some of us.

Yeah... I think y'all have no clue how the entertainment business works at all. And that's what sports are... An entertainment business.

We are more than 7 weeks away from the regular season, I just don't think it's that big of a deal. We're still more than 3 weeks away from the opening of camp.

It's a non-issue. It's the same as if he were trying to recover from a serious injury (which, incidentally, he is). Plan on him not being there, and if turns out he's available, work him in as best as you can.

I wish people here understood what this was about. It's not about Bledsoe not liking Dragic or Phoenix or the Suns or whatever.

He's doing one thing that EVERYBODY here would do if they were in his shoes....he's holding out for the chance that he gets more money.

Bledsoe wants money. This is his FIRST NBA CONTRACT after his sh*ty rookie contract. Everyone in his situation wants a big fat check. Sure $48M is a lot of money but he wants more and guess what, he isn't wrong to want more. Does he deserve it? That's for
McD to decided that's what he gets paid as a GM to do.

I don't blame the Suns on this either. Their just doing their job and sticking to what they believe. I'm on the Suns side on this one too actually, I don't think he's worth more than $48M. But that doesn't mean I hate Bledsoe and want him off the team because he wants more money.

Anyone who thinks Bledsoe is being greedy or selfish by wanting more than $48M is a hypocrite. Sure $48M sounds a lot to you because your working a 9-5 office job which pays $60-70k annually but if you were an NBA player who saw your co workers getting raises then you'd think the same way as Bledsoe.

Only thing I don't agree with during this process is the way that Bledsoe's agent has done negotiations. I think it would have been good to not leaking info and maybe negotiating with Bledsoe at the table.

We all understand its about the Benjamins so drop your patronizing attitude.

And not everyone would be arrogant enough to insist on a max offer after the season he had last year. I mean the injury of course.

He would have probably had a lot more offers if the LeBJ drama did not happen this year and if his agent did not come screaming MAX from the very start.

As far as I am concerned the roster got better even without Bledsoe. He will have to play for one year for 3.7 mil and he will have to shine in the limited minutes he gets even for that money if he wants to get a remote chance at something like 48 million for 4 years.

The Suns hold all the cards. Tell me who will pay for someone 48 million for 4 years if they keep him on the bench all year or if he isn't productive while he plays.
Also that is a massive saving of 12.3 million that can be attributed elsewhere if a chance arises and maybe they can even trade his ass.

Maybe I am missing something and there is a way he can get away from the Qualifying offer and not play at all ?

I think even in the worst case scenario the Suns come on top this year and Bledsoe will be happy if he get a 48 million offer next year unless there are truly idiots out there who don't value their money.

The whole league knows he has injury concerns and an unreasonable agent so I doubt there will be any higher offers for him this year unless he makes some stellar performances. It is also in his and Suns best interest that he does, but the Suns will have the reigns when and if they let him shine.
