Very interesting. I could swear in the past we had coaches complain that we wouldn't hire all the assistants some of our coaches wanted.
Looks like that is no longer a concern.
It seems Arians presented quite a list of candidates for the staff. What a nice shocker.
Looks like Keim and Arians will be able to get input from the guy running the pass rushing drills and assuming Lott continues what he's done also the bench press portion. Those Cardinal decisions just got a whole lot more interesting.
If we were to also get Alex Gibbs, who runs the zone blocking scheme, it would be mighty impressive. Many of us here, myself included have wanted us to switch to it for some time. According to the below article, he basically invented the modern day zone blocking schemes. The Quote from the article below
For those who may not know, Gibbs is best known for developing the modern zone blocking scheme, made most famous out in Denver with the Broncos when they won their two Super Bowls in the late 90's. Gibbs moved on to the Falcons, where he mentored Seahawks Assistant Head Coach Tom Cable, then on to Houston and for a brief while in Seattle before retiring.

(oh and the above link ALSO has videos of Gibbs teaching his scheme...the article says 6-10 hours worth.)
If we land Gibbs, then I can see WHY MB went this route. Hard to pass up this much quality coaching.
It seems Arians had a who's who list of specialists backing his coordinator picks. Very impressive.
If we don't land Gibbs, the others still make for a solid staff. With this new information it completely changes the outlook of the strength of this staff. Whatever we fear may be lacking from any coordinators is backed up by the knowledge of the specialists.
Amazing what a few days of filling out the staff can do. We didn't know what the front office did, and with this growing list of staff, the rationale of the choice that was made becomes much clearer. With this much and possibly more with Gibbs, Horton simply couldn't compete with it.
I'm shocked.
