Cardinals sign TE John Carlson to a two-year contract

I like this signing, depending on the guaranteed money. Carlson isn't a top TE by any means, but he's definitely an upgrade. Over the last 5 weeks of the season he averaged 4.2 catches for 56.6 yards. Certainly never going to be confused for a Pro Bowler, but if Housler ever puts it all together...

These 5 could be who we choose from in Rnd 1

Not trying to be rude, but this is a very strange list (and thread). I'd be shocked if any of these guys end up being the pick at 20. I've been wrong before though...

    PICK 3 Free Agents

Sam Shields- One of the most physically gifted corners in the league. 4.3 speed, nearly 40" vert, and solid size. Didn't start playing CB until his senior year at the University of Miami (was a WR his first 3 years). Hasn't quite put it all together, but could turn out to be one of the steals...

That game was harder than it should have been...

We're 5-4 after finishing last year playing some of the worst football imaginable. Sure, there's a lot of things that can be cleaned up and improved, but I'm pretty pleased with where we're at all things considered.

This loss is on 1 player

Remember Ray Horton's first game as our DC? The rookie Cam Newton threw for 422 yards in his first career game and the Panthers had ~500 yards of total offense. Give it a little bit of time. Also, count me among the people who think DWash would have made a significant difference. He's our...

    Arians

The defense didn't play well, that can't really be argued. However, if you watched the Cardinals last year you know that the most important member of our defense was DWash, and we desperately missed him today.

Which non story are you the most sick of?

Tebow HGH Testing (I just don't care that much) The Jets in general Tony Romo or Jason Garrett And anything that causes me to think of Pete Carroll chomping his gum like a great white shark on heavy methamphetamines.

    Cardinals' 53 Man Roster V 4.0

Good list. I can't disagree with too much of it, but I hope Williams sticks around in the place of Smith, and Flemming in the place of McCann. They both just have more youth and potential. Smith just seems to lack vision, and it's hard to be a good NFL RB without patience and vision. I was...

    Scola trade to Pacers Imminent

His "career" includes a whopping 14 games played and a whole 21 shot attempts, so that 24% number is fairly useless IMO. Plumlee will likely never be more than a backup, but I watched him quite a bit in the Orlando summer league and think he has the ability to contribute. He's very athletic...

    Scola trade to Pacers Imminent

Looks like the deal is Scola for Green, Plumlee, and 2014 1st (lottery protected). Love it! Per Stein, Woj, and others.

Levi v. Potter for LT -- Winston v. Massie for RT

Somers says Brown and Massie are lining up as starters, with Potter and Winston as backups. Not surprising.

OT: (49ers CB) Tarell Brown's salary drops $2 million due to offseason absence

This is pathetic on a number of levels. Both the player and agent should be embarrassed. That being said, it's kinda sad. A guy loses $2 million and another guy got fired. I know I probably shouldn't feel bad for them, but I do.

    How good is Winston?

I think we should have learned from last year the value of having depth at the tackle position. If Massie is better, he'll play. They control him longer contractually and it would actually save money as Winston's deal has incentives for number of games started (if I remember correctly). It's...

    Mark Asher fired at KTAR

I actually don't mind Doug and Wolf or Gambo and Burns. I preferred Asher to Burns, but Burns isn't bad. However, his analogies drive me crazy sometimes. A couple weeks ago he was comparing the Coyotes ownership situation to Ross and Rachel's relationship on the show friends. It was very, very...

    How good is Winston?

I find it less concerning that he was released twice (due to the circumstances you mentioned) and more concerning that he remained on the market for so long and was only able to pull a minimum deal plus incentives. In a league always starved for tackles, why couldn't he get a job. It's quite...

    2013 Summer League

Part of it is about making good decisions though. There is more to attacking than just shot attempts. When you drive to the lane, and the defenders collapse on you, the best play is often to kick out to your shooter, or find the guy in the post who's man left to help defend you. I thought he did...

BSOTS: Marshall doesn't think he needs to improve

    2013 Summer League

This is getting obnoxious. You're going so far out of your way to bag Marshall that it's gotten to the point of just making stuff up. Marshall was a +14 last night for good reason. The offense ran exponentially better when he was in the game, and he put people in perfect position to score a...

BSOTS: Marshall doesn't think he needs to improve

This thread is complete garbage. I don't mean to be rude, but it's completely inaccurate and misleading. I understand you dislike Marshall, and I wish we would have picked someone else as well, but don't concoct inaccurate fallacies just to back your opinion. Marshall never, ever said he didn't...

    2013 Summer League

Just watched the game... I actually thought Marshall looked much, much better. He seemed quicker, better defensively, and more confident in his shot. He should have had 5-7 more assists than he did. I still don't think he'll ever be more than a backup PG, but I think he's getting better. The...

Most Improved for 2013: Michael Floyd will emerge at receiver

Am I wrong? The consensus was Decastro? These polls don't seem like a consensus for Decastro. http://www.arizonasportsfans.com/vb/f4/this-could-be-our-toughest-draft-choice-178468.html http://www.arizonasportsfans.com/vb/f4/decastro-or-reiff-177726.html And yes, I would say WR would...

    Suns 2013 Free Agency

I think Chase Budinger and Al-Farouq Aminu are some other young, relatively inexpensive possibilities. Aminu's weakness is his shot, which is a common theme with our wings, but he does bring athleticism, defense, and youth. Budinger is still relatively young and brings another shooter with some...

Good read on the 2nd rd pick Alex Oriakhi

Haha me too. I remember being excited about Dwayne Collins in the 2010 draft. He had a freakish wingspan and was supposably a high motor guy. Let's hope we get a little more from Oriakhi than we did from Collins.

Most Improved for 2013: Michael Floyd will emerge at receiver

Yah cause that Wade Phillips guy is known to be a terrible defensive coordinator. I'm still really excited about Floyd, and think he'll be great, but time will tell. People love to continue to whine about the Floyd pick, but most of those people wanted either Riley Reiff or Melvin Ingram...
