Jazz say Donovan Mitchell’s MRI revealed a left foot contusion. His status for Wednesday’s game against OKC will be determined tomorrow.

No he didn't. Kerr completely rebuilt that team around Steve and Amare. A Steve/Amare team that for the previous two seasons didn't get out of the first round and the next year didn't even make the playoffs. BC didn't get Jason Richardson, Dudley (both starters), draft Lopez (who was a solid starter on the 2010 team) and finally got us a bench drafting Dragic, getting Frye, Lou Amundsen who all worked great together as the bench mob.

That's wrong, Kerr took over after Nash's 3rd season where the Suns made the WCF twice and the 2nd round once. In Kerr's first year they lost in the 1st round, missed the playoffs in his 2nd year, and then made the WCF in his last year. They didn't have 2 straight 1st round exits before he took over as GM. They didn't lose in the 1st round until he took over.

Wade went a little nuts against the Sixers, leading his team to knot up the series. Dragic and James Johnson contributed heavily to the win.

Ah... you’re right.

And still wrong because you can’t call a guy a failure after completing rebuilding that team around Amare/Nash and getting them to Game 6 Of the WCF before Sarver lowballed him and his staff and he told Sarver to screw.

He might not have been aces, but calling him a failure flies in the face of where he was when he left.

Ok. I can go with that.

I know he's upset, but he's a multi-million dollar commodity - if he doesn't understand that yet, he needs some education. He's barely a person to that organization.

Klay has become such a masterful, unpredictable cutter off the ball. Got Mills leaning the wrong way so many times. Surprised Spurs don't give Murray more of a shot on him, but understand Pop is trying to max out on outside shooting

Can't remember where I read it but he dribbled the ball only 6 times in the entire game in Game 1 and scored over 30 points.

Draymond Green’s flagrant foul on Davis Bertans from last night’s Warriors-Spurs Game 2 will not be rescinded, I’m told - despite his frustrations and protestations.

I really don't understand that. Sure, he put more into it than he had to but the other guy forced his arm up that high. The rule says "unnecessary" and that contact became necessary because of the other guy - maybe not the force but the high contact itself. OTOH, Green has gotten away with so much over the years that I'm not going to feel sorry for him on this call. But, IMO, it should have been a double technical at the minimum (and I usually despise the double T call).

It's the elbow that sold the flagrant.

It looked like Bertans was holding and Green swung his arms away. I agree with your take about the double technical being the right call.

should have been a double technical or nothing. Bertans not only had his left elbow up higher than Green, it was at throat level, which is why Draymond called it a choke, but as he was falling back he looked like he tried to throw a punch with the right hand.

I'm sure draymond did hit him although I think he sold the fall down to get the call. If you're going to call a T, should be both ways, otherwise just let it go.

But given Draymond's history he's just not going to get away with something like that. They watch him too closely he has to control himself better than that.

On the Bucks series I can't remember if I posted this before but I actually "know" the Bucks interim coach Joe Prunty. He's from Sunnyvale, he has at least 2 older brothers that I know. The oldest was Jon Prunty who was a really good player, he was a senior when I was I think a freshman in HS. Not big enough to play bigtime but a really good shooter.

The other brother Jim was my year, he was about 5'7". I didn't like him much in HS he was a cocky guy because of how good his older brother was, but he was good for his size. They won the section title his senior year largely because they had a 6'9" guy named Pat Giusti who went on to play at Oregon State and then USF.

Joe was I think 4 years behind me but I saw him play and even reffed some of his games when he was in YBA as a kid.

Pretty cool to see a guy now coaching in the NBA I saw play YBA ball.

What is up with Lillard? Is he injured or something? He has been terrible so far in this series.

As the Pels head home up 2-0 on Portland, Jrue Holiday is almost outshooting Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum by himself. Lillard-McCollum: 29 of 80 shooting combined. Jrue Holiday: 24 of 44 all by his lonesome. Unreal.

Too bad he doesn't fit the timeline.

I know you have been in favor of trying to get Holliday. It is fascinating to see how it takes time for some pg's to mature. Holliday, Nash, and Billups all did not really hit their stride till close to 30. Holliday is 27 but still.

I do agree. There is no reason why Holliday should be out of the timeline. He would be a great veteran presence on this team, especially if we drafted Ayton, Bagley, or JJJ. I am just not sure how we could get him.

I think you guys are overlooking that Holiday isn't playing PG for the Pelicans right now. This has been his best year in New Orleans but the majority of it has been at SG next to Rondo. He also has 4 years and $100 million left on his contract. Since we already have Booker at SG, it wouldn't be worth giving up the assets it would take to bring him in and then moving him from the position he's been the most effective playing at. He's not the sort of PG the Suns should go after. Considering his age and salary he's not really the sort of player the Suns should go after.

He's about to turn 28 so the timeline shouldn't be a big worry but he's been in and out of the lineup for years due to injury. And most players hit their stride at 27 so I'm not surprised about him upping his game. He played 81 games this season and it was easily his best year but I'd still hesitate to pay him 26 million per for 4 more years.
