I'm telling you..... I just have a big feeling about Jalen Thompson.

Andy would really make me happy, but as a 2nd rounder....... He should contribute IMO.
You are on the bus with me brother regarding Jalen. Sounds like Dvontel is on as well.

He adapted so quickly (especially with a shortened offseason) and played really well. For me, players who get it generally get it right away. I am not a big believer that guys figure it out over time and guys who make it flash early, even on special teams. It reminds me of Tony Jefferson. He wasn't perfect right away, but he looked like he belonged out on the field with the other pros right away.

Remember Boom or Bust exists because of your willingness to be risky. I can give a certain amount of leeway in these areas because I love his willingness to "go there".

I just wish he would weigh the risk a bit better. With Alford..... I get what he was trying to do. With Bradford..... I had ZERO clue.

With next years contract number (7.5mm base but a dead cap # of only 1.5mm) I wonder if we can reach some sort of settlement. His 2020 salary became fully guaranteed in March so this year is done I would figure.

Anyone with more contract knowledge know how this works?

I am guessing this is what they are talking through. If they IR him now, they can guarantee to be able to let him go next offseason. If they work to get him back and he comes back and gets injured, they likely will eat the contract for next year as well or have to pay out an injury settlement.

After being declared ineligible for his final season at Washington State, Thompson entered the 2019 NFL Supplemental Draft. He was selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the fifth round of the supplemental draft and was the only player selected. He signed a four-year contract with the Cardinals on July 17, 2019.

I think you might have overlooked him mention "Andy," as in Andy Isabella.

Robert Alford's absence won't result in a move to box safety for Isaiah Simmons, at least in the short term.

Kingsbury: "We want him to learn (linebacker) and get comfortable there, where he can use his speed and athleticism to make plays."

he was a 4th round pick, right?
Yes
1Murray
2a Murphy
2b Isabella
3 Zach Allen
4 Hakeem Butler

OK, it's pretty common to waste a medium pick on a player, it's a pity we couldn't watch him playing a single snap, I thought he could be a red zone weapon

I believe you are confusing him with Keesean Johnson... Butler's downfall from what little is leaked out since his draft seems to be immaturity

I was really hoping we would see something from his this year, but with no preseason thats tough. I think if he goes to the practice squad he gets claimed on physical stats alone. That speed and height will make someone else give him a shot.

It was giving a 29 year old CB who was cut a 3yr 22.5 millions dollar deal.

It was giving oft-injured OT Marcsu Gilbert 4.95 mil.

It was giving a RB a huge deal prior to absolutely needing to.

It was signing Darius Philon to a 5 mil deal and then him having issues.

Sam Bradford's horrendous deal.

Terrell Suggs.

DJ Swearinger.

Jermaine Gresham's extension.

On a individual basis, I agree that none of these are egregious, but as a whole, it is a consistent problem.
Not sure how you blame Keim for Philon. Guy had no background issues prior to his professional career or with the Chargers.

Indeed - plus, he STILL has not been charged, and from the surveillance video that was released, it's not at ALL clear there was any truth to the accusations against him. Maybe some day the truth will come out regarding that incident.

I wonder why he thinks that? Thought he was one of the best route runners coming out of college.

He was the worst WR in camp last year, and probably is not doing well this year either.
