Then what the hell does that make him? That is precisely what a PG does.
A wing with passing skills. You can't be a PG if you don't have the handles to take the ball up the court.

That's where the disconnect is then. I believe Doncic more than has the handles to bring the ball up the court. He is a very good ball handler.A wing with passing skills. You can't be a PG if you don't have the handles to take the ball up the court.

I question Doncic's ability to be a point guard in the NBA but it has nothing to do with his playmaking or ball handling abilities. That's the first I've heard of his handles being an issue. He may not be able to break anyone's ankles with his dribble moves but he's able to effectively drive to the basket and uses his size to help in that regard. His speed and athleticism may keep him from being an NBA PG but not his playmaking or handling.
There is exaggerating player's flaws, and then there is just making things up. Inability to bring the ball up the court is even beyond making things up.
Y'all probably the same people who thought Bender would be the next Dirk. SMMFH
I feel mostly the same about Doncic as I did about Bender. All I've ever seen of either is highlight/lowlight videos and that's no way to judge a player. So I halfway listen to the so-called experts and cross my fingers that our front office is actually watching entire games instead. But when I do watch Doncic highlights, I don't see the "slow and un-athletic" player so many have written him off as. He can't guard NBA point guards but few can.
Thanks to @Mert here is a whole game.

Bogdon will have the much better game but Doncic is years younger. The game is in 2017.
Thanks, although I'd rather our scouts watched at least a half dozen games from this season. And even then, I wouldn't feel comfortable with an international player until we've had a chance for a real workout. If I had to bet, I'd expect stardom for Doncic but we can't afford to get this pick wrong.
Think what? It's only one game and Doncic is much younger but it does make one think.
Think what?
He has put quite a few defenders on their ass with his dribble moves. They are actually quite advanced and they would be even if he was like 6’2”.I question Doncic's ability to be a point guard in the NBA but it has nothing to do with his playmaking or ball handling abilities. Ironically Doncic is one of the most ready to contribute right away.I think McDonough will hesistate to draft another European player with a top 5 pick and rightfully so seeing how his other top 5 European selections have workrd out.
Suns have been drafting project players for a while now, they need to draft someone who can contribute some right away rather than more 3-4 year projects imo.
Even a guy like Devin Booker will start losing his patience.

That commentator, good grief. It's like watching a bad sitcom with an exaggerated laugh track.
He also has that other move where he starts driving, stops (often with a behind the back dribble), steps back and gets a wide open shot. That thing is incredible to watch. That example was similar, but the defender lost balance, so he didn't really need to do anything. What's amazing is just how quickly he makes adjustments. If you give him just a little more room, he will pull up for a shot, and if he catches you off balance, he will just drive by you. He is also deceptively strong. Without looking it up, at 6'6 or 6'7, I'm guessing he weighs more than Bender or in-shape Chriss. The only question is whether or not his first step is going to be quick enough in the NBA. If it ends up being quick enough, defenders will have to back off a bit more, and he will need to improve his shot, which I am sure he will be able to do. His form is fine, his release is good, but it will take some time to adjust to the NBA three-point line.
Another thing I like is that he has a pretty nice low-post game, so if you put a smaller defender on him, he can punish them in the low post.
I’ve admittedly always been an advocate of potential. But at present all that potential (Len, bender, chriss) isn’t paying any dividends. It makes me leery of jjj and bamba. Why hasn’t jjj earned minutes if he’s so incredibly versatile? And why can’t bamba play sustained focused minutes and expand his offense? My biggest fear is coming outta this draft with the newest Hasheem Thabeet.Real NBA defenders will gobble that up, kill that And1 stuff and punk Doncic. The NBA is way to fast and is too strong for Doncic. Its completely a wasted pick If Suns go Doncic. This is a draft with Bigs and they need to pull the trigger on Ayton, Bagley, Jackson even Bamba and stay away from the Euro crossover champ. Lack of athleticism, quickness and strength, does not translate well in the NBA.
If what you say is true, then why is he consistently listed as the #1 or #2 pick in this loaded draft? Either you're wrong (or partially wrong) or you're right and most other people, including those that report and watch basketball as a career, are totally wrong.Real NBA defenders will gobble that up, kill that And1 stuff and punk Doncic.
