Peyton doesn't owe anything to any of these teams. His only responsibility is to decide what is best for him.

If teams are willing to gamble on being able to bring him in then it's on them. Cardinals actually seem more active in FA than usual and I'm not convinced the Peyton situation had much bearing on Marshall.

How is passing to second rate WRs in Britt and Washington in any way shape or form what is best for Manning then?

I didn't realize he had made his decision. But players do have life off the field that can play a factor.

If this is true, it could put the Cards out of the running:

On KFFL:

A Sunday decision would surely be a kick in the ass.

Unless we were gonna boot Kolb anyway.

(I also remember hearing that we can ask to extend the date of the bonus, but Kolb would have to agree...wouldn't THAT be a fun conversation)

Just offer him a lifetime contract in the FO once his playing days are over!

Isn't it true if we cut Kolb we only save 2 million against the cap? So why not keep him period..If Peyton chooses us...2 million for Kolb isn't going to make or break us.

What would stop any rich person from giving a player money? Meaning say a billionaire fan of the Cards(just an example) says..Peyton come to Arizona and I will personally give you 100 million of my own money as a gift?

No, we can defer $6 million of his signing bonus to next season. No $7m roster bonus and no $1m salary. Just on the hook for $2M of signing bonus.

He could save us $8M in salary cap money.

Honestly, I'd not blink if we jettisoned him and grabbed some journeymen. His concussions are a serious issue, IMO. 1000% more concerning than Manning's neck, IMO.

Completely agree. I'm in favor of shedding Kolb regardless. I have nothing against him personally and respect how hard he's worked to become an NFL QB. I also hope he can live a healthy life with all his injuries but I was against bringing him in from the outset, particularly at the cost the Cards paid.

We are not going anywhere with Kolb anyway, and Cardinals have apparently realized that as well. I will not be surprised to see Kolb released.

I just made the mistake of reading replies on ESPN from Titans fans.... "Peyton is coming home!" Last I checked the Mannings are from Mississippi and Peyton was born in New Orleans you hillbillies.

No wonder Lane Kiffin ran for the hills as fast as he could.

I think even if Manning wasn't available, I would let him go due to the concussions. That last one had scary symptoms.

Endorsements.. Done.

If that was LEGAL then Daniel Snyder and Jerry Jones could get every good player in the NFL. Just pay them the vet min, but give them a 100 million endorsement from Joe's Bail Bonds, Apex Carpet Cleaning, etc,

You cannot offer players deals outside the normal contract structure.

I simply can't fathom Peyton wanting to play for this guy

The sad thing is, the dude is clearly in some stage of dementia. I don't get how the NFL has never stepped in to control him, Ralph Wilson or Al Davis (RIP).

My grandfather is turning 90 this month, and he would never do something like that.
