I'm glad Elway took him out to dinner in Denver. I'm sure the dinner Whiz, MB, Graves and BB and Grimm took him out to last night was better though.

I'm just glad it wasn't Friday night though Springsteen had a concert on Sirius radio. I'd hate to have PM compete for Grimms attention during a Springsteen concert. We saw how that played out last time.

when the media starts making stuff up hoping it is true, that is usually a sign the opposite is truth.

The Denver media are a bunch of fantastic homers. Former PHX now Denver sports caster Vic Lombardi hears from sources that it's "80%" Broncos.

Yet Manning is alone and got straight on a plane. He's talking to Broncos officials. OF COURSE they think they are in the Drivers seat.

As exciting as this all is (and ive been fantasizing about this for months) I'm ready for it to be over.

At least if he signs with Denver he won't be in our conference/division.

Don't see it as good a fit as here though! I'm thinking he's smarter than that.

The only thing I can think of is he really doesn't want to be in Eli's conference.

If he signs with SF, I'm jumping off a bridge. I'd pick a 20 foot tall bridge, so that I don't die, but still, I'm jumping!

So, having Larry show up and talk constitutes a dog and pony show? If our meeting was over the top glitz and glamor then I can only assume Denver must have met him in the back of an alley.

The problem is that the Broncos' current face of the franshise player is Tim Tebow. Not exactly the best person to help you land Manning.

The difference maker, IMHO: Cardinals All-Pro receiver Larry Fitzgerald was present at a dinner Saturday night hosted at the home of Whisenhunt and during a portion of the meetings at the team's facility Sunday, per sources.

This kind of surprised me. From what I could tell, the Cards were more low-key than the Broncos.

The Broncos brought along two former players, John Lynch (former all-pro safety) and Brandon Stokley (former Manning teammate) to persuade him to sign with Denver.

Meanwhile, the Cards brought Fitz and Andre Roberts, players that Manning would actually be on the field with on game day (and throwing balls to), most likely to talk X's and O's and not some dead legacy.

How is the latter more of a "dog and pony" show?

I think Denver is just jealous that we are contenders and actually have something to offer other than past references. Also dinner at your Hc's home is more meaningful than some dinner at some country club.

Bingo. I'm thrilled the dinner was at Whiz's house. I hope Peyton spent the night in the guest bedroom and Mrs. Whiz served breakfast in her bunny slippers.

LOL. How can you put a percentage on a decision unless, of course, you are the person making that decision?

Cardinals chances of making the big dance with Peyton>Denver's chances, by at least "80%."

Not to mention we didn't have a ******* helicopter following him as he landed and taken to the facility in Denver. What in the hell are they talking about?
