I have this sinking feeling that Peyton always wanted to go to Denver and that he took this meeting and is thinking about Arizona out of respect for Whiz.

i think if he picks Denver (and for the record I grew up a DIE HARD Bronco fan as a kid, my father worked for the Broncos) it will be about more than football and winning a championship..
You can't convince me that Denver has a better roster to win a championship than the Cardinals, I do not buy that for a second.
But if MAnnign chooses it based on other factors such as developing a relationship with Elway for after football like Elway says he will mentor Manning for a GM job or something to that effect, I can buy that..
But if he does choose Denver he better please spare us the "They give me the best chance to win a cha mpionship" line because that will be garbage...

The one thing they have that really has me worried about this is that he can make it to the Super Bowl without stopping his brother from doing the same. Of course, I don't know if that's really important to him or if it's just another of those reasons that the media has pulled out of thin air.

Has anyone heard of the release of Levi Brown yet? His roster bonus was due today.
If I were the Cardinals, I would say I were moving in a different direction and can't wait around. Set a deadline of tomorrow sometime. Then if he wants to be here, he hurries up, it not, we look like the smart ones by not being second fiddle.

Why? We don't have any deadline other than Kolb's bonus on either 3/16 or 3/17, which Peyton was no doubt made very aware of.
There's a time for hardball, but when you try to play hardball in a tee-ball game, you look like a bad guy. This is a tee-ball game. Peyton is going to choose the team he wants, and if he wants us he knows about the bonus timeframe for Kolb and will take it into account. Trying to force his hand doesn't endear him to us.
It isn't like we are going to go after a different QB in FA and he's holding us up...it's him or Kolb.

Manning already knows where that point in time is. It's the hour before Kolb is due his money or his walking papers. There may come a point of no return/fish or cut bait moment where the Cards may have to move on and, before doing so, post one final "the train is leaving the station" comment.
There's a difference between playing hard-ball and doing whatever it takes to do what's right by your football team roster-wise.

That's not playing hardball; that's being real.

On NFL.com they have the arrow pointing down now on the Cards and now the Titans are going to get a visit. If he visits Tennessee we are toast because we have the Kolb bonus.
The way they have it portrayed Arizona is not looking good. In my opinion that is dumb. If Peyton is dumb enough to sign with Denver or Tenness(more sense) he isn't very smart. The only good thing in this if Manning really can't take a hit and signing him would have doomed us.

Gotcha. I was just clarifying the, issue.Sure there is. But there's a difference between informing Peyton of a deadline and making one up with the intent to pressure him. We were responding to the suggestion that we invent a deadline.
