I have an idea, I think Wayne does not know jack what Peyton wants to do and his lack of knowledge sent him back to his comfort zone in Indy.

I'm seriously hoping Manning put so much trust and emphasis on "keeping quiet" that Adams' ridiculous behavior will eliminate them from contention. Doubt it though, money talks, no matter what.

Peyton can bite me.

Hanging the Cards and Broncos out to dry while we wait for a simple yes or no. We missed out on Marshall because we're waiting on Peyton.

Hope he signs somewhere we can play him, and have Acho lay his ass out indefinitely

If this is true, it could put the Cards out of the running:

I don't get it. Thought Pm said he will always be a Colt. How would he have amanagement role in a rival team ?? Can you see Fitz working for the 49ers ?

Peyton doesn't owe anything to any of these teams. His only responsibility is to decide what is best for him.

If teams are willing to gamble on being able to bring him in then it's on them. Cardinals actually seem more active in FA than usual and I'm not convinced the Peyton situation had much bearing on Marshall.

Game, set, match.

Really? His "life" in regard to this contract is a) probably 4 or 5 years on the outside, b) A length probably offered by every other team Manning met with, including AZ, and c) can be terminated at any time...just like every other contact in the nfl (just ask Shanahan, who was told very publicly by owner Pat Bowlen that he was the Bronco's coach for life).

No chance the league would allow that.

There is no way in hell they can officially offer, even verbally, a post retirement job. Unless the new CBA has really changed the rules.

I'm sure Adams can say "for life" just means the dollars, but that shouldn't fly.

I would be willing to guess a contract "for life" is a violation of quite a few rules. Bud Adams is just senile enough to think he can get away with it.
